Particularly, dispatches of our international sales were significantly impacted despite having a strong order book. Domestic sales from depots around the country could also not take place as planned. While the current Covid-19 pandemic continues to pose significant challenges in the first quarter of this year, since approximately 60% of our business caters to end users who are in food related industries, we are hopeful of a reasonable recovery in the second half of the year subject to any unforeseen issues.

LANXESS _It's the combination that does it

Ø  LANXESS expertise and technologies for wastewater treatment
Ø  Combination of ultrafiltration/reverse osmosis for removing suspended solids from refinery wastewater
Ø  New and further development of software for the success of our customers
Cologne – Membrane techniques have enormous potential for water treatment. “The removal of harmful or troublesome trace elements as completely as possible during water treatment is more important today than ever before – and is also indispensable for responsible wastewater management,” said Alexander Scheffler, head of Marketing in the Liquid Purification Technologies (LPT) business unit at specialty chemicals company LANXESS. For example, ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) can be combined perfectly to treat wastewater flows containing suspended solid matter. “After reverse osmosis, the water quality is almost equivalent to that of drinking water. Depending on the process used, the pH value still has to be adjusted or the ammonia has to be removed using ion exchangers,” explained Dr. Jens Lipnizki, head of Technical Marketing for Membranes in the LPT business unit.
From the slurry tank to the shop counter
One example of an RO-based process is the treatment of pig slurry, as has been successfully practiced in decentralized systems in the Benelux countries for years. In the first step, a physicochemical treatment is applied in which ferrous sulfate and a flocculating agent are added to the slurry. The solid matter is separated by means of a strainer and sold in granulate form as a natural organic garden fertilizer. The remaining liquid phase is concentrated further by reverse osmosis. In combination with an ion exchange process, the majority of ammonium ions can also be removed from the permeate.
Slurry treatment results in a granulate and a concentrated liquid phase. In addition, clean water is produced, which can easily be fed into the water cycle.
Using a combined process to remove solids and borate content
Together with the French company Polymem SA, Toulouse, LANXESS recently completed a project for an Italian oil company as part of a sales partnership. In this project, a combination of UF/RO is used to remove suspended solids (total suspended solids, TSS) and borate from the wastewater of an oil refinery in Apulia, southern Italy, thus making it available for reuse within the process. The solids can be completely removed, while the borate content falls by around 97 percent. The low-pressure process also stands out due to the relatively low investment required as well as its equally low energy consumption. Discussions concerning a further expansion of the system are currently ongoing.
Since mid-2018, LANXESS has been selling Gigamem neophilic hollow fiber membranes from Polymem, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality UF membranes and systems for drinking water and wastewater applications. This way, the German specialty chemicals company added ultrafiltration to its existing technology portfolio for water treatment.
Further development of software for the success of our customers
“The swift and reliable design of the UF/RO system in Italy also impressively demonstrates the performance of the new LewaPlus module for calculating ultrafiltration processes. This module is now an integral part of our LewaPlus design software, version 2.1 of which was released in March 2020,” emphasized Lipnizki.

NEW ERA OF MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER, DR. BINAY SINGH DEDICATES HIS BOOK TITLED ‘CORONAVIRUS- OPPORTUNITY THROUGH ADVERSITY’ TO MOTIVATE ALL THOSE AWAY FROM HOME AMID THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC

30th June 2020, Mumbai: Coronavirus threatens to become the worst pandemic the world has seen in centuries and has brought a sudden change in the working lives for humans which is being witnessed by the whole world.  Prognosticators, talking heads, politicians, and alarmists around the globe threaten to start a panic of infinite proportions but “a positive vision of the future is a great inspiration for a beautiful life” is how Dr. Singh tries to display his perspective at the current situation of Covid-19 through his book.
‘Coronavirus- Opportunity through Adversity’ is a book dedicated to all of those who are away from their homes and families to serve mankind and to the seafarers’ by Dr. Binay Singh. The book offers a different perspective, one of inner peace, the power of prayer, and the promise of a bright future ahead of all who work day and night to serve mankind and are currently on their ships carrying essential cargoes which are needed in various countries now more than ever. This book on the novel coronavirus is very timely along with an objective to keep the seafarers’ community motivated and focused on looking at the possibilities, and preparing for new opportunities in this period of despair.  The book not only tells you how to survive COVID-19 and the mandates being handed down by governments around the world, but how to see the good in everything and fill your days with peace and prosperity.
Dr. Singh, The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Singh Marine Management Ltd. and a recognised Global expert in growing the Ukrainian Seafarers came from India to pursue a degree in Marine Navigation at Odessa State Maritime Academy (OSMA) and found his home in Ukraine. The success behind his growth is his very simple mantra that he follows by “Treat people as you like to be treated.

Dr. Binay Singh will soon be releasing a book titled “International Guide for Seafarers” that compares and contrasts various groups of seafarers to give an insight into who they are and how they follow orders since the seafarers of each country brings a different set of beliefs, cultures, personalities and mannerism. The books also focus on various aspects and traits of seafarers and whether they make good leaders or not.

This Doctor’s Day Dental Professionals Dr. Gunita Singh and Dr. Tanvir Singh throw light on their role during COVID-19 pandemic

We are all suffering from COVID. To suffer from COVID, we didn't necessarily have to be COVID +ve. We all suffered in one way or the other. Every human and every profession is affected we all had to go through a lot. Being a dental professional we had our own problems we are in very close proximity to our patients and saliva is all about droplets and COVID spreads through the same most of the dental clinics were shut on the day 1 due to many reasons fear, specification from the DCI, lack of infrastructure required. But still, ours was one of the few professions which could go on. We shut for 2 days at Dentem but then the directors of Dentem, Dr. Tanvir Singh, and Dr. Gunita Singh Decided that we shall not shut and the show must go one. We got so many calls in these 2 days from patients who were suffering from dental pain, their treatments were in a mess, their respective dentists had decided to shut so we decided that it will be unethical to shut we have to help these patients as they were not COVID positive but still suffering due to COVID.
So we became frontline warriors. We worked on sanitization and disinfection Donned in our PPE's we were ready to help all those who needed us.
We adhere to the highest standard of safety precautions to prevent any possible transmission in our office.
a) As the patient reaches outside the clinic thermal screening is done and patients are given protective disposable gowns to wear before entering the clinic.
b) We use high-speed evacuation and advanced dental isolation systems whenever possible for required dental procedures producing aerosol to decrease possible exposure to an infectious agent.
c) We are following up to 4 patients a day policy as we have only 4 dental chairs no chair is used again in a day.
d) We clean and disinfect our office again after finishing our OPD every day including door handles, chairs, and bathrooms.
e) Hourly appointment is given so that social distancing is taken care of.
f) Cross ventilation, open windows, exhaust fans helps filters you name it we have it to ensure maximum safety to who so ever is coming to us.
Soon we realized that so many needed us more and more patients started approaching as they were by now fed up with eating antibiotics and waiting for the pandemic to pass the pain didn't subside but they landed up with the ulcers in the stomach. Dental services fall in the essential services category and dental pain is the worst in the midst of all this. we Dentists can't shut we had to work and save people from pain so we did that.
We are scared too. The COVID case are increasing day by day and so are the patients in or dental practice as now patients with pain want to get rid of there pain but we too have families we come back to our children at the end of the day we want to meet our parents on the weekend. But we don't we maintain social distancing with our own kids too I don't enter their room talk to them from a distance so though we are not positive yet we are also suffering from this pandemic. Dental professionals are suffering too. We are all suffering from corona but trying to serve as much.Website- https://dentemcenter.com/
