'Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya' is a heartwarming family drama that follows the life of Vaishnavi (played by Brinda Dahal), an orphan who venerates Chhathi Maiyya (portrayed by Devoleena Bhattacharjee) as her mother. The show revolves around Vaishnavi's devotion to Chhathi Maiyya, who protects and guides her worshippers through life, celebrating the triumph of good over evil. In the recent episodes, Vaishnavi is facing numerous obstacles in her life. Fall in love with the Problem

Building a startup is very much like falling in love. In the beginning, there are many ideas you could pursue. Eventually you land up picking one idea, which you think you strongly connect with. Very much like going on many dates, till you find someone whom you think is ‘The one’. 

Successful entrepreneurship journeys are typically over a decade long, unless you are really vested into the problem that you are solving, it can be very difficult for young 1st time founders. 

I lean on Uri Levine’s thoughts from his book ‘Fall in love with the problem, not the solution’. Uri says “At the end of the day, building a startup is hard, long and painful. You have to be in love, in order to have enough passion to persevere through the hard parts of the journey….If you’re not in love, it will be too hard for you”

So, find a problem that you strongly relate to, that you can fall in love and stay in love for a long time. The obsession with the problem, can be often sidelined with the exuberant discussion about the solution. Start with the problem and whenever you feel lost while building, go back to the problem that you are solving. Go back to your WHY, the cause, belief or purpose of WHY you commenced your Entrepreneurial journey. 

Seek Customer Love not only TAM

Create that type of Customer Love, where if you as a brand disappear tomorrow morning, you take a part of the soul away from your loyal customers. I quote Rohit Bansal, Co-Founder Snapdeal and Titan Capital, Rohit says “We actually prefer investing in businesses, where the market may seem extremely small right now, but what they are building is a 10X experience. What they have built is superlative, even though it is a very tiny market, seemingly very niche, but what they have built has absolute and immense love for the brand in itself. We have seen that it is a lot easier to replicate that love, over a period of time, to a larger and larger TAM over time”.

Not every entrepreneur needs to solve for Gen AI or make a low calorie Cola. In fact, the larger the TAM (Total Addressable Market), the more competitive it is with a small bootstrapped budget to make an impact in the market. Ideally a small niche, allows you to focus on the smallest set of customers, who really need what you are building. When you create super Customer love with these set of users, who have the acute problem that you are solving, then you can increase the TAM over time. 

Customer Money > Fundraising

In the current Indian context, the first angel cheque is still challenging, despite there being a large number of angel groups and early-stage funds. 

When you are in the early stages, don’t think that a cheque of Rs 1 Cr, is going to solve your problems. I am not saying it cannot, but it is not a necessity to Start up. You must bootstrap your business, hustle to get the few customers, build your first teams, figure out your Unit Economics, before you raise money. During bootstrapping, you may also find out what is working and you can put more money behind it to scale your Startup, once you receive your first angel or seed round of Investment. 

Bootstrapping is an important stage, because it teaches the entrepreneur to be frugal with capital, yet show some early traction. I quote Harsh Jain, Founder at Dream 11, from my book, ‘Ain’t No Eureka – Your Idea to Enterprise journey, “For early-stage companies, do things that ‘don’t scale’, because larger companies cannot do things that don’t scale”

Unit Economics & Profitability

Understanding of unit economics implies that you are able to break down the revenue and expenses at a unit level. This focus is critical, irrespective of whether you are at an Idea Stage, bootstrapped or even at a scaled stage of the business.
It is important to gear all your cost and growth structures, towards a goal of being profitable. This focus on frugality is so different from the VC money rush of 2021, but this is a trend which will stay for a while to come. So, stay focussed on your Unit Economics and your path to profitability. 

Team and Culture
When you hire people, hire for alignment with your WHY as an Entrepreneur. 
Harsh Jain, Founder Dream11, said “For anyone wanting to build culture, write down what culture means to you. In the first 20-30 employees, culture flows directly from the founder. After you cross that number, you need the culture to be written down, what does that culture actually mean”
I have always believed that your first hires should be:
Aligned with your WHY and should be A+ on Culture fit and could be B+ on Skill
Hire for complimentary skills sets, but ensure that everyone comes with a fire in the belly, so that they can take over work across departments in the early days.

SEVENTEEN today attended a nomination ceremony and delivered an inspiring speech at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris to officially assume their role as UNESCO's first-ever Goodwill Ambassador for Youth. 

During the ceremony, SEVENTEEN highlighted the importance of the strong companionship that brought them to where they stand today and encouraged the dreams of young people worldwide. SEVENTEEN's heartfelt message resonated deeply with the audience who joined the ceremony either in-person or via live stream on UNESCO’s official YouTube channel. 

“We are grateful to be recognized for our consistent effort and longstanding passion to contribute to youth worldwide,” said JOSHUA, on behalf of SEVENTEEN. “As the Ambassador for Youth, we will spread the power of companionship and contribute to building supportive youth communities for the better future we envision.”

“We know that our dreams don’t stand alone and now, to give back what we’ve received from all of you, we are determined to use our voice to create a global youth community made stronger through mutual love and support,” he added. 

Prior to the ceremony, SEVENTEEN joined UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay for a bilateral meeting to discuss the roadmap of their partnership, including the development of joint programs for youth and the group’s participation in future UNESCO events.

Renowned actor Aamir Khan, often referred to as 'Mr. Perfectionist,' has recently added a new asset to his real estate portfolio by executing the deed of transfer of a residential property in his name in Mumbai’s Bandra suburb. According to property registration documents accessed and analyzed by SquareYards.com, the actor acquired this prestigious property for Rs. 9.75 crore.

Khan’s newest property is ready-to-move-in and approximately 1,027 square feet (carpet area) in size. The transfer deed, which was finalized on June 25th, incurred a stamp duty of Rs. 58.5 lakh and a registration fee of Rs. 30,000.

The property is located in Bella Vista Apartments, an upscale residential building situated in the affluent Pali Hills area. Pali Hills is one of Mumbai’s most prestigious and sought-after residential areas. Known for its tranquil environment and verdant landscapes, Pali Hills offers a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city. This upscale locality is home to several celebrities, industrialists, and expatriates.

Recalling a moment during the shoot in Prayagraj, Siddhi Sharma shared, “When we started shooting for the show ‘Ishq Jabariya’, we went to Prayagraj. Since the show is set in a regional setting, we had to use a Bihari accent. At first, I made a lot of mistakes with the accent because it was challenging for me to get it right. I was born and raised in Mumbai, and my background is Marwari from Jaipur, so the Bihari accent was new to me.

“However, during our time in Prayagraj, I worked hard to pick up the accent. One day, a local person approached me and asked if I was from the area. When I told him I wasn't, he was surprised and said that I spoke just like the locals. That moment was a big win for me because it meant I had finally learned the accent so well that the local person could not figure out that I was not from that region” Siddhi added

Danfoss and Hewlett Packard Enterprise partner to curb data center energy consumption and reuse excess heat

  • Incorporating AI into India's expanding data center industry is crucial for sustainability and addressing the environmental impact of data centers.
  • India, China, and Southeast Asia will drive approximately 85% of the additional demand for electricity through 2026, with data centers being a significant contributor

24.06.2024, ChennaiDanfoss and Hewlett Packard Enterprise recently announced their collaboration to deliver HPE IT Sustainability Services – Data Center Heat Recovery, an off-the shelf heat recovery module, helping organizations manage and value excess[1] heat as they transition towards more sustainable IT facilities.

The rapid integration of AI technologies across organizations and businesses is expected to have a dramatic increase in the power demand and utilization of AI optimized IT infrastructure. According to the International Energy Agency, by 2026 the AI industry is expected to have grown exponentially to consume at least ten times its electricity demand in 2023[2]. To mitigate these challenges, IT leaders and data center facility operators are taking action to reduce energy usage, such as implementing modern power-efficient capabilities and improved cooling systems. Excess heat in the EU alone represents an estimated 2,860 TWh/y, almost equal to the EU’s total energy demand for heat and hot water in residential and service sector buildings[3]. The flow of excess heat from data centers is uninterruptible and therefore constitutes a very reliable source of clean energy.

Mr Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India, said, “Sustainability is at the heart of our partnership with HPE. By harnessing excess heat, we’re not only reducing energy consumption but also creating a reliable source of clean energy. Danfoss’ heat reuse modules will make it possible to capture and reuse heat produced by data centres, providing a renewable energy source to supply heating on site and to neighbouring commercial and residential buildings, communities and industries that need heat for their processes.”

Benefits and agility of modularity
HPE’s MDC incorporates direct liquid cooling (DLC) technologies to enhance energy efficiency by over 20% and optimize energy production and distribution, leading to notable energy savings. The design’s compactness minimizes energy loss by reducing the distance 

for energy and cooling fluid transport and maximizes the temperature differential at the inlet and outlet, which promotes the capture of excess heat. Furthermore, the MDC’s agility and the exclusion of heavy industrial materials negate the need for costly, conventional building materials and substantially reduces the time to market. Deployment can be achieved three times quicker than with traditional data centers, decreasing from 18 months to as few as 6 months. Finally, the reduced land footprint and flexibility of the MDCs allow for placement in proximity to data generation sites, which diminishes the energy impact and bottlenecks associated with complex networking solutions and data transfer, while also supporting enhanced data governance and security.

With unparalleled density, HPE’s modular data centers offer an impressive power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.1  in contrast to the PUE of 1.3 to 1.4 typically associated with the best modern designs of traditional brick-and-mortar data centers. Capable of handling the most power-demanding architectures like HPE Cray Supercomputing EX4000, HPE’s modular data center is the adequate architecture for mission critical and compute intensive workloads like supercomputing and generative AI, enabling scientists, universities, and enterprises to achieve faster outcomes.

From chip to chiller: Driving innovation in decarbonization
To leverage excess heat – one of the largest untapped sources of energy and the largest potential for data centers across Europe, HPE has partnered up with Danfoss as their decarbonization partner. The strategic partnership takes advantage of Danfoss’ extensive product portfolio of energy-efficient solutions to drive innovation, support decarbonization and build the blueprint for the next generation of sustainable modular data centers.

HPE IT Sustainability Services – Data Center Heat Recovery is inspired by how Danfoss is already using heat reuse technology at its own headquarters campus in Denmark. Here, the heat is recovered from Danfoss’ onsite data center, boosted by a heat pump, and re-used in surrounding buildings to provide space heating. The heat can also be fed into the local district heating network to provide a renewable heat source to local residents. Reusing heat is a major part of Danfoss’ own decarbonization strategy which has helped Danfoss achieve carbon neutrality in the energy system of its 250,000m2 campus in Nordborg in 2022.

The new scalable modular data center offering leverages Danfoss technologies, including Turbocor® compressors for heat pumps and chillers, heat exchangers, heat reuse modules, drives and pump skids allowing data centers to be cooled up to 30% more efficiently while recovering and reusing excess heat. It’s a modular solution with components that work together seamlessly and includes two technology stack options with a heat recovery system, including hydronic heat recovery heat exchanger and water-water heat pump, recovering heat from an air-cooled edge-to-cloud modular data center today and potentially second phase liquid cooled HPC modular data center.
