Number of hotels and pubs wont be able to play your favourite music 

HC has ordered injunction against them to play songs of YRF, ZEE music, Eros and many other labels.. 

Novex communication engaged in the business of licensing public performance rights in sound recordings has filed cases against against number of pubs, hotels etc for violation the copyrights act by playing music without the license. Novex Communication, an authorised firm for Zee Music Company, Yash Raj Films Pvt Ltd, Red Ribbon and Eros International Media Ltd, Tips, Thinkmusic, Nucleya had moved to Bombay High court against several hotels, resorts and pubs. The places have been either violating the copyright by playing their music without the license or have not taken the licenses to play the same for commercial purpose. 

Novex being holding the rights for YRF, Zee music, Eros and many other known labels have hit songs like the Ghungroo song, swag se swagat, kala chashma, Nashe si chad gayi, Tune Mari Entriyaan, Tu Meri, Baby ko base, Aaj Raat ka scene, First class, Laung Gawacha, Mumbai dance, Scene kya hain, Mirza, Heeriye, Lat lag gayee, Party on mond, Makhna, Tum hi ho Bandhu, Shaam Shaandaar, Tareefan, Chamma, Gulabo, Pallo Latke, Mehbooba, Bang Bang etc and a party is not a hit without their songs. 

Injunction has been granted against Fariyas Lonavla, Barrel Mansion, Ananta Hotels in Pushkar, Udaipur, Trippling Street in Mumbai, Tipsy Gyspsy in Mumbai, Saya Grand and spa resort and ANR, NS hospitality private limited and others, and and GCC Mira Road.

Planet Hollywood-Goa and The Grand Bhagwati-Ahmedabad has given an undertaking of not playing the music without the Novex license, whereas, Ad-interim against Agent Jacks, Viper-Mumbai. Ex parte injunction granted against Radisson Blu Atria –Bangalore and Wonderla Kochi hotels of Bangalore, Kochi,  Hyderabad.

Novex Communications Pvt Ltd, a Mumbai based company, filed six separate suits in the city civil court, seeking a permanent injunction restraining infringement of copyright of the company. The SayaGrand and Spa Resort and Anr, NS Hospitality Private Ltd and Others, Goyal Fashions Private Ltd, Privilege Restaurants and Others, Gipsy Hospitality and Destination Private Limited, Fariyas Hotels Private Limited, were found to be playing music owned by Novex.

A representative has mentioned that the Novex Communications said that Novex is engaged in the business of licensing public performance rights in sound recordings. “Exploitation of sound recordings, which Novex licences, includes public performance in hotels, restaurants, lawns, discotheque, resorts, malls and other venues for communication to the public on a commercial basis of the following music labels: Zee Music Company, Yash Raj Films Pvt Ltd, Red Ribbon and Eros International Media Ltd, Tips, Thinkmusic, Nucleya.”
