Actor Emile Hirsch is always known for getting into the skin of his characters, may it be convincingly essaying the role of Christopher McCandless in true life drama Into the Wild or moulding himself into the martyred Danny Dietz in biographical war movie Lone Survivor. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star’s dedication towards the craft is unparalleled.
So when it came to playing Officer Cadeo in his upcoming action thriller Force of Nature, Hirsch dived into his character with full passion, embodying all its complex layers. “It was important to try and ground this character and make him real and relatable,” says Hirsch, who shares screen space with Oscar winner Mel Gibson in the film.
On the importance of bringing realism to the role, he adds, “My favourite action movies, like John Wick or the Die Hard movies or the Mission: Impossible franchise or really anything Mel has done — are the ones that bring reality to the story. So that was my goal: to create a character who is complex and put him in this action environment and we see the different ways he reacts”.
Apart from Hirsch and Gibson, Force of Nature also features an eclectic ensemble of actors like Kate Bosworth, David Zayas and Stephanie Cayo. The trailer has already received a lot of love and the film seems all set to win over the box office this weekend.
