Bengaluru, January 7, 2022: Ravi Venkatesan, founder of the Global  Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME), UNICEF’s Special Representative for Young People and Innovation and former chairman of Microsoft India,  Cummins India and Bank of Baroda, released his second book titled “What  The Heck Do I Do With My Life: How to Flourish in Our Turbulent Times”.  The book is a practical guide on how to flourish in the 21st century and is targeted towards young people, working professionals, CXOs, retired veterans and anyone who wishes to develop the mindset, skills and strategies that are required to flourish in our period of extreme change.

Having been in the works for almost a decade, the book highlights the rapid  pace at which the world is changing - driven by factors such as technology,

climate change, demographics and inequality - and the need for a new  ‘paradigm shift’ to view the world and our place in it.  Sharing tools and strategies to implement this shift, Venkatesan shares insights across diverse facets of living and working in the 21st Century, such  as the importance of adaptability to our changing environment, cultivating a  positive mindset, learning key ‘meta skills’ in the age of Artificial Intelligence, honing leadership qualities,  managing money and finance and lastly how to truly feel happy and successful in this ever-changing dynamic world.

To illustrate the above through his own experiences, the book is peppered with several anecdotes from  Venkatesan’s personal and professional life spread across his long and successful career, allowing readers a  peek into his life and mind.

Commenting on the book, Nandan Nilekani, Chairman and Co-founder Infosys and founding  Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) said “Ravi has taken a lifetime of  learning and condensed it into a deeply personal account of what it takes to flourish in this period of extreme change. What the Heck Do I Do With My Life? is full of practical advice as well as wisdom, on meaningful living.  It should inspire, challenge and most of all, help you find your purpose!”

Echoing these views, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Founder and Executive Chairperson, Biocon Limited said “Flourishing in our VUCA world requires intentional choices that will bring sense and sensibility to our lives.  Ravi’s book is an invaluable and must-read guide for this.”

Speaking on the conceptualization of this book, author Ravi Venkatesan said “Over the last few years, I  found many people, young and old, asking the question that is the title of this book. This is because of the incredible rate of change around us and the explosion of complexity and choices. In order to not just survive but thrive in the 21st Century, we will need to be far more intentional about our choices and it will also take a  very different mindset, new skills and strategies. That’s what this book is all about.”
