Ezeepay applauds RBI's UPI 123Pay initiative

More than 40 crore Indians still do not own a smartphone, and hence, they cannot make digital payments. To cater to this issue, the Reserved Bank of India has launched UPI 123Pay on March 9, 2022. Non-smartphone users can easily access digital payment methods using this digital payment method. This can be possible because of the standard server site library that RBI created to allow feature phone users to use digital methods to transact.

In collaboration with the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), the UPI123PAY launched by RBI will have all of the necessary smartphone features for the feature phones now. 

"The launch of UPI123Pay makes the facilities under UPI now accessible to that section of society which was so far excluded from the digital payment landscape. In that way, it promotes financial inclusion in our economy," RBI Governor ShaktikantaDas added.

Praising this new initiative by the RBI, Mr. Shams Tabrej, Founder, Ezeepay, said, "The Government of India is already working towards digitalization for the past few years. This is a good step towards financial inclusivity."

"This fantastic initiative will help us improve digital transactions to the next level and make a smooth surface for a cashless economy," Mr. Shams added.

To back the smooth functioning of this feature, NPCI has also set up a 24x7 helpline for digital payments. Named 'Digisaathi,' this helpline will help the users answer all their queries on digital payments via website and chatbot.
