Have you wondered what the difference between Ginger Beer vs. Ale is? What if we told you its natural and has no artificial flavoring! Here’s a brief by Akash Devaraju and Noopur Porwal, Local Ferment Co.
To put in simple words, Ginger Beer has a stronger flavour of ginger with a spicy finish since it’s brewed and fermented carefully, while ginger ale is generally carbonated water with added ginger flavour.
All natural, no artificial flavouring
Ginger beer is a completely natural and refreshing drink made by inoculating ginger tea with a "ginger bug", a slurry of fresh ginger, organic sugar and water that has been allowed to ferment until bubbly and foamy. In our opinion, a squeeze of fresh lemon rounds off and balances this spicy ginger drink and brings out great undertones and nuances of the lovely ginger root.
A myriad of pairings
Apart from the classic or OG flavour, it can also be infused with rosemary and kaffir lime, adding more notes. One can enjoy it in a cocktail like the Moscow Mule, the Dark & Stormy or drink straight with some rosemary!
