5th December 2023: P.V. Sindhu, the badminton virtuoso,
recently took centre stage on Mountain Dew Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai stories on the
Ranveer Show with Ranveer Allahbadia, unravelling the heartfelt chapters of her
awe-inspiring journey. With a twinkle in her eye, Sindhu spoke about the game-changing
advice from her parents that became her success mantra, navigating the
rollercoaster of life's highs and lows. India's sports
sensation P.V. Sindhu dropped truth bombs about the real MVPs in her success
story: discipline, hard work, and commitment.
In a trip down
memory lane spanning two whole decades, Sindhu threw it back to when she kicked
off her badminton adventures at an age of 8 – and there was just no stopping
her after that. Sindhu underscored the essence of learning from mistakes and
sustaining a positive and disciplined life ethos, making it clear that life's
best lessons come from epic fails.
Sharing her
'Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai’ story, Sindhu bared her soul about wrestling with the
Olympic-sized fear after a major injury which dimmed her chances to play at the
2016 Olympics. With her support system having her back and their encouragement
by her side, she bounced back on the court in just six months. In a nail-biting
revelation, Sindhu spilled the tea on facing Michelle Li, with whom she had
faced defeat before. During her third game with her, as the scoreboard tipped
against her at 17-14, fear's icy grip took hold, yet Sindhu roared back,
transforming fear into a fierce driving force. This electrifying moment, she
recalled, marked the turning point in conquering Olympic jitters. Fueled by
unwavering willpower and mental fortitude, Sindhu not only changed the game but
also etched her indomitable spirit into the Olympic saga.
She shared her
secret sauce for overcoming her ‘Darr’ during the 2016 Olympics - how she
pushed herself forward with a big dose of courage, mental strength, and a
'never say die' attitude. Talking about her life after the Olympic success,
P.V. Sindhu, says, “My life completely
changed after the 2016 Olympics. When I returned to India, right from the
airport to up to 37 Kms – old and young people were cheering with my banners. I
feel good about the love but when I look back, I realize that I have worked
very hard, and it wasn’t an easy journey. I earned it.”
In line with
this, P.V. Sindhu also spoke about her close relationship with her parents,
outlining their consistent support through life’s ups and downs. They
consistently motivated her to always give her best, even in the face of defeat.
Reflecting on their words of wisdom, she recalled their simple yet powerful
advice: Work harder and come back stronger.
Summing up her
life philosophy, P.V. Sindhu believes that hard work, passion and positivity,
and self-belief is the key to bouncing back stronger and ultimately winning in
life. In an emotionally charged segment, she got real about mental health,
spilling the beans on her daily meditation routine as the anchor for
maintaining her zen and calm.
