Delhi Public School R.N. Extension proudly hosted the Ghaziabad District Chess Championship 2024 in
the school auditorium, with 140 contestants from all over the district competing fiercely. The
championship featured 70 chess boards, with players divided according to their age groups, allowing
simultaneous matches to unfold. Each contestant participated in five rounds, each lasting one hour.
The event not only served as a platform for healthy competition but also as a learning experience,
fostering team spirit among students from different schools. The dedication and achievements of DPS
RN Extension students added vibrancy to the Championship, leaving a lasting impression on the sports
community.
Among the exceptional performers from DPS RN Extension were Arihan Barolia, who secured the first
position in the U-19 mix category; Vidhi Sharma, who achieved the third position in the U-19 mix
category; Swastika Kumar, who clinched the third position in the U-15 mix category and Aarav Barolia,
who earned the third position in the U-13 mix category. The top four qualified players were selected for
the upcoming state championship.
