( Zee ) , India 's leading content and technology company , today announced the launch of Zee Writers Room - a landmark initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing young and emerging screenwriting talent across the country . Zee Writers Room is not just a talent hunt - it is a creative initiative that aligns with the company 's brand philosophy of ' Aapka Apna Zee ' The association with Zee is a step towards further strengthening the content across its various platforms . While there is a demand for fresh perspectives , this initiative seeks to bridge the gap between raw stories and the world of professional screenwriting . It also gives select writers an opportunity to create their own stories on Zee ’s TV , digital and film platforms .
Led by Zee ’s central content and regional teams , the initiative is designed to connect the country ’s untapped talent to the changing needs of Indian entertainment . Zee Writers Room was announced with a passionate and emotional brand film , launched in seven Indian languages - with the shared thought of “ opening doors of opportunity – Stories , Scripts , Screens – for the storytellers of tomorrow . ”
The campaign is being launched across 80 cities and 32 event centres , and is being promoted extensively across on - air , digital and on - ground platforms . This initiative gives talented storytellers across Hindi , Marathi , Bengali , Tamil , Telugu , Kannada and Malayalam languages an opportunity like never before - a shared writers room where imaginations are nurtured , stories are shaped and narratives are honed .

This initiative is designed for writers who already have the creative spark - whether self - trained or formally trained , have showcased their writing skills at college festivals , writing clubs or digital platforms but have n't yet made it into the industry . The aim of Zee Writers Room is not to teach the basics of writing but to hone that skill and transform into a professional screenwriter .
These 70 new writers and 30 emerging experts will together form a creative team that will transform initial thoughts and story ideas into powerful new worlds , interesting characters and strong storylines for Zee ’s TV , OTT and film content .

Every participant will have to go through these four stages -
Written Test : Participants who register will take the test by attending a selection event .
Screening and Selection : A reading team will read all submissions and shortlist the top 10 percent based on the writing .
Interview : Selected finalists will be interviewed by industry experts .
Joining Zee Writers Room : Top 100 participants will be inducted into Zee Writers Room , where they will develop stories under the guidance of experts .
