Bigg Boss Weekend Ka Vaar Sunday Synopsis

Chaat stalls, bull rides and a talk show: Salman Khan ensures an eventful Weekend Ka Vaar on Bigg Boss

The Weekend Ka Vaar episodes are always full of a surprises, drama and unlimited excitement as the master host Salman Khan takes stock of how the housemates have been performing. Salman starts with giving the housemates a very scrumptious task! Each housemate is called to step up on a chaat counter where they have to prepare a chaat for the counter that resembles their personality and feed it to them!

First up is Rubina who makes a chaat for Rakhi, where she mixes a bunch of interesting ingredients and serves it to her. Rakhi, too, has a go at making a chaat for Rubina and makes sure she serves the choicest of chutneys that resemble Rubina’s personality. Rahul is next, who chooses to make a deadly chaat for Arshi. When Arshi is called, she chooses Rahul in return and makes an equally distasteful chaat for Rahul who has to eat it!

Next is ‘The Ali and Devoleena Show’ where the two play two rounds of fun questions with the contestants. Rubina, Abhinav, Rakhi and the other housemates are asked a bunch of tough questions along with a smashing Rapid Fire Round which reveals a whole lot about the intentions and the game plans of all.

Mouni Roy enters the stage with a stellar dance number and  shakes a leg with Salman. The next task that Bigg Boss throws open is when the contestants have to ride a bull! The contestants have to ride a mechanic bull and answer questions posed by Salman and Mouni, and the rest of the housemates will say whether the contestant on the bull is telling the truth or not! Arshi, Rubina and the other housemates ride the bull as host Salman is in splits about the outcome!

Alton has put forward a request for Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman ahead of the Union Budget 2021. ALTON, developed at INKER’s R&D center, is a modular training Robot of its kind, designed to enable an experiential learning experience in Robotics.

Please find a link of the video for your reference: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U3TM49ZGVHJWRJCyC-YTDsiSCub4SlZb/view?usp=drive_web

In an interaction with his CEO, Mr. Rahul P Balachandran, ALTON shared his view and expectations from the upcoming Union Budget, he said, “Globally Automation is currently a $168 Billion industry with an immense growth opportunity. As we move along this path, the nature of jobs and the skills required will be different from what we have currently. With progress also comes the need to innovate, reskill and upskill. Now is the time to drive adequate skilling initiatives and designing the strategic education roadmap by academia and industry leaders in the field.

To meet India’s vision of a $5 Trillion economy, incentivization of educational road map development with industry participation is required. Additionally, incentivization of relevant sectors to adopt the Industry 4.0 technologies should be provided to accelerate the demand for robotics and automation.

The expectation from the Finance Ministry during the Union Budget Announcement on February 1 is to support automation players in diving deeper into this mission, empower the student community to drive India’s Automation future, and help stakeholders across industries to drive this vision.”

Rahul Balachandran, Founder, and CEO, Inker Robotics  as an industry specialist in the world of machines and robots, Rahul foresees to open a whole new dimension of practical knowledge to the industry stakeholders about the opportunities that lie with Automation basis hands-on experience with their hi-end robotics equipment.

Sharing his views on the Budget and expectations, he said “India has been projected as the only economy that will grow in double-digit i.e. 11.5 percent in 2021. As we have seen, the challenging 2020-21 has made us realize the importance of adapting and adopting the latest technologies to drive the economy forward. To enable us to be future-ready it is important to expand on policies and programs like National Program on Artificial Intelligence.

There should be more focus in the budget on various constituents of Industry 4.0 like Robotics and automation, Digital manufacturing, AI among others where India is lagging behind many of its global peers when it comes to both innovations in the areas as well as their adoption across sectors.

The need of the hour is well-thought-out Policy formulation to support and nurture Unified support systems and comprehensive eco-systems that will bring together stakeholders across academia, research and development and industries. This will accelerate the translation of investment and innovation to value generation and impact creation. The expectation from the Finance Ministry during the Union Budget Announcement on February 1 is to support various stakeholders who are driving the mission - “Futuristic technologies to enable the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision by framing favorable policies, providing grants and strategic investments.”

ALTON is one of its kind educational companion for students. Every single aspect of this robot is designed and developed in a way that it makes learning robotics fun. With the countless number of hours researching, Alton is made as an educational robot that is engaging and interesting for students having great features unmatched by any other similar product.

The Weekend Ka Vaar episodes are a time for the contestants to get feedback from the master host Salman Khan. He makes it a point to address the times when the contestants have gone overboard and explains where they have gone wrong.

The episode starts with Bigg Boss asking the contestants to come forth and talk about which housemate they feel has been in wrong and why. While each contestant makes sure they talk their heart out, the focus is on Rakhi and Rubina. Rakhi steps forward and says that Rubina has been in the wrong and that nothing can stop her from loving Abhinav. When it's Runina's turn, she says that Rakhi has been wrong for not considering her emotions and the respect that she has given her. Abhinav also takes Rakhi’s name and blames her for torturing him in the name of entertainment. In fact, he goes on to say that if there is anyone who has broken his heart the most during the season, it has been Rakhi!

Next, host Salman Khan addresses the incident where Rakhi pulled Abhinav’s shorts’ strings and asks Rubina about overreacting to that incident. While Rubina explains just why that incident made her overreact, Salman explains to her that the only person who benefited from Rakhi’s actions was Abhinav! Salman also sets right Abhinav’s misunderstanding about Rakhi’s actions showing him in the wrong light. The master host tells Abhinav to not overreact and think a bit before he starts making judgements about other housemates.

Salman Khan addresses Nikki Tamboli next, who has been quite rude to other housemates. Salman tells her that he has not noticed any change in her attitude even after he personally gave her feedback.  He again reminds her about minding her manners and says that it reflects on her upbringing. Salman also pulls up Rubina for supporting Nikki, especially when she is misbehaving with most housemates.

Will Nikki improve after Salman Khan’s feedback? How will Rakhi, Rubina and Abhinav’s relationship evolve after the Weekend Ka Vaar?

Fish farms in Bihar are laden with antibiotics, insecticides and heavy metals, finds FIAPO latest investigation report

January, 2021: A new investigation by the Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO) and All Creatures Great and Small (ACGS) brings to light a shockingly awful state of aquaculture in India. It was found that 100% of the fish and shrimp farms have hazardous levels of lead and cadmium. With careless use of antibiotics and insecticides, uncontrollable disease outbreaks, no attention to fish welfare, and a looming threat of AMR, aquaculture is a ticking time bomb.

Varda Mehrotra, Executive Director of FIAPO says,We have found shocking conditions in this growing sector. Fish are kept in cramped, filthy enclosures, with no waste management. They are cut up alive. The contaminated water from these fish farms is released into local water bodies and estuaries that spread the parasites further, causing harm to the fish population as well as humans.”

FIAPO and ACGS investigated about250 fish and shrimp farms across the 10 highest producing states in India. This covers fresh and brackish water farms in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Gujarat, West Bengal, Orissa and freshwater farms in Bihar, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, and Assam. The objective of the study was to assess the condition of fish and shrimp farms in India on animal welfare, public health, and environmental hazard standards.

In Bihar, the investigation was carried out in the districts of East Champaran, Muzaffarpur, Begusarai and Patna covering 20 fish farms. 100% of the fish farms had toxic levels of lead and cadmium, scoring extremely poor on the public health hazard scale (0.25/1).

Additionally, 100% of the fish farms had no outlets, this means dirty water is recirculated posing a grave threat to fish and human health. Several farmers admitted massive losses due to prevalent diseases and massive floods every year. All the fish farms lacked basic maintenance and were littered, and open defecation is a regular practice near the fish farms. All the fish farms had poor dissolved oxygen levels, which means fish were struggling to survive with high mortality rates.

Following the Kolkata model, Patna recently added a sewage-fed fishery. Banned fish species like Mangur catfish was widely farmed accompanied by indiscriminate use of antibiotics, insecticides and pesticides.

Such haphazard management practices also invite the risk of anti-microbial resistance. AMR is the next health catastrophe waiting to be unleashed. Recently, a group of fisheries scientists called for greater awareness about Anti-microbial resistance (AMR) addressing the need to curb the transmission of AMR bacteria to humans from fish and shrimps.

The unhygienic conditions of meat markets also give rise to events of pandemics, malaria, typhoid, and jaundice.Anjali Gopalan, Managing Trustee, All Creatures Great and Small says"We do not seem to align our considerations with our lifestyles and actions, the brunt of which is faced by aquatic life because they exist away from human civilisation. The lack of marine sentience and sensitivity of the public as well as industries to the health of fish is revealed when we learn about the administrative and political indolence in the country. Consequently, when this is clearly a public health concern we must start today in mobilising resources to improve the conditions to avoid an aquaculture disaster."

“Aquaculture is factory farming of fishes, and it constitutes the same systemic problems encountered in the factory farms of land animals: crowding, stress, disease, pain, and death. If you don't want to support that, then don't buy fish,”says Dr. Jonathan Balcombe, scientist, speaker & advisor at FIAPO.

About FIAPO

Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO) is India’s apex animal rights organization. Created for the movement, by the movement, FIAPO is India’s only federation with more than 165 members and over 200 supporter organizations nationally.FIAPO led the campaign that persuaded MoEF&CC to ban use of dolphins for commercial entertainment. It stopped the establishment of the proposed mega dairy with 40,000 cows in Andhra Pradesh, and teamed up with other NGOs and volunteers to rescue over 150 animals from 16 circuses across India. FIAPO continues to bring to light the horrifying conditions in which animals live through its investigations on the dairy industry, gaushalas, meat shops, etc.
