“Dadasaheb Phalke's Statue will be there in World Cinema Museum”, Says Vinod Tawade

Mumbai, 26th May 2014: Next year in 2020, Oscar Academy is creating World Cinema Museum. Cultural Minister Vinod Tawade said that “The State Government is urging for the statue of Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian Cinema in this museum.
Marathi Film Awards Function was celebrated in a glorious manner at National Sports Club of India, Worli. John Bailey, President of Oscar Academy, Cultural Minister Vinod Tawade, Ujjawal Nirgudkar, Compiler Carroll Littleton, Mayor of Mumbai Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, Wife of Cultural Minister Vinod Tawade Mrs. Varsha Tawade, MLA Prasad Lad, MLA Sunil Shinde, Principal Secretary of Department of Cultural Affairs were presented at this 56th State Marathi Film Award function. The famous Marathi stars were also presented for this award function.
In this award function, ‘Bhonga’ was awarded as Best Film, Actor K. K. Menon and Actress Mukta Barve was awarded as Best Actor and Best Actress.
While speaking in this award ceremony, Mr. Tawade Said that, ''State Government will provide the necessary support to establish Office of Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Science(Oscar Awards) in Mumbai. Most of the movies are producing in India Today. So we are happy to welcome Mr. Bailey in this Bollywood Nation for the first time. Oscar academy has its current offices in London & Europe. But its Mumbai office can be seen as Asia's Center of Oscar Academy.''
Waman Bhosle & Paresh Rawal was awarded as Raj Kapoor Award also Sushma Shiromani & Bharat Jadhav was awarded as V. Shantaram Award.
Waman Bhosle was honored with Raj Kapoor Jivan Gaurav Award of 2019 by the state government. Whereas senior actor Paresh Rawal was honored with Raj Kapoor special contribution award. Award was in the form of Rupees 5 Lakh, Medal & Certificate. Senior Actress Sushma Shiromani was awarded V. Shantaram Jivan Gaurav Award and famous actor Bharat Jadhav was awarded V. Shantaram special contribution award. Award was in the form of Rupees 3 Lakh, Medal & Certificate. Special awards were given by President of Oscar Academy Mr. John Bailey, Cultural minister Mr. Vinod Tawade, Compiler Carol Littleton and last year's Award winners. All the awardees expressed their happiness at the State Government's award function.

Best Actor- K.K. Menon for Ek Sangaychay
Best Actress- Mukta Barve for Bandishala
Best Supporting Actor- Swanand Kirkire for Chumbak
Best Supporting Actress- Chaya Kadam for Nude
Best Debut (Male)- Firoz Shaikh for Tendlya
Best Debut (Female)- Gauri Kothvade for Pushpak Viman
Best Debut (Production)- Shantai Motion Pictures for Bandishala
Best Debut (Director)- Sachin Jadhav and Nachiket Waikar for Tendlya
Best Film- Bhonga
This year, Tendlya film ranked third and Bandishala ranked second as the best film. Soon, the audience will get to see this award function only on Sony Marathi.
