Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai in association with Atal Innovation Mission to launch Atal - Great Lakes - Balachandran – Incubation Center

04 November 2019, Chennai: Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, a premier B-school in the country in association with Atal Innovation Mission will launch Atal - Great Lakes - Balachandran – Incubation (AGBI) Center in its premises. Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai is one of the only four B-Schools in the country to receive this grant.
The facility, of over 10,000 sq. feet will be inaugurated on 18 November 2019 in the presence of Padmashree Dr Bala V Balachandar, Founder, Chairman of the board & Dean Emeritus, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Mr. Mohan Lakhamraju, Vice Chairman & CEO, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Dr Suresh Ramanathan, Dean & Principal, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Mr. Lakshmi Narayanan, Vice Chairman, Cognizant and MrR Ramanan, CEO, Atal Innovation Mission with the rank of Additional Secretary of Govt. of India.
The new block, which will house the incubation center, is named ‘ARR Lakhamraju Block’ in the fond memory of Late Mr. ARR Lakhamraju, the father of two members of the board, Mr Mohan Lakhamraju and Mr. Gautam Lakhamraju.
The event will be attended by alumni of the institution along with various successful entrepreneurs whose ideas were conceptualized in the incubator. The event would also witness innovative concepts & ideas from first time entrepreneurs, which can be later incubated in AGBI. The students of the graduating classes will also be provided with a platform to share their thoughts with AGBI and selected business plans will be allowed to set up shop at the incubation center.
Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) is a flagship initiative by the Government to promote culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in India. Its aim is to promote innovation and revolutionize entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country. It develops new policies and programmes for fostering innovation in different sectors of the economy and provides a platform along with collaboration opportunities to various stakeholders in the entrepreneurial space.
