In the beginning of June, Yolobus, an intercity bus service startup, reached out to Sonu Sood - a household name in India today because of his contribution to the needy in these difficult times - to join his noble initiative of sending stranded migrant workers to their homes. Together, and till date, they have helped about 350 (approx.) stranded migrant workers reach their homes in safe and hygienic buses.
These are times when we should come together and help those in need, to the best of our possibilities. This experience has been a very satisfying and humbling one for Yolobus which came forward to be a part of this noble cause and has since been a partner in sending migrant workers to their homes in safe and hygienic buses.
The company is aware that many such migrant workers are still stuck in Mumbai and Delhi, waiting to be sent back to their homes. To be able to help them, it is reaching out to the community to come together in this collective endeavour and help by donating as much as possible for them. The response started trickling in within an hour of the first such reachout the company made.
Watching stranded migrant workers walk on foot, bearing extremities, was a heartbreaking sight for all of us. To show empathy and create a caring world is what matters most right now.
