Teeing off to Nurture Golf Talent on 30th January, 2024
January, 2024: Following the resounding success of the inaugural Golf tournament in 2023, The Leela Palace Bengaluru hosted the second edition of this enthralling 18-hole tournament at the Karnataka Golf Association, Bengaluru on 30th January 2024. The second edition of the shotgun tournament by The Leela is in collaboration with KGA Junior Golf Development and Golf Foundation.
What truly sets this tournament apart, is that it attracted a wide range of promising golfers, from budding talent to seasoned professionals. There were over 30 children who took part in the tournament that included children from all walks of life.
Speaking on the occasion, Madhav Sehgal, Area Vice President – South India, The Leela Palaces Hotels and Resorts says, “We are thrilled to announce the second edition of our annual golf tournament hosted by The Leela Palace Bengaluru. This year, our aim is to create a platform to not only inspire young aspiring golfers but to recognise and celebrate them as well.”

The tournament was inaugurated with a ceremonial shotgun tee-off on the 30th of January 2024 by none other than the legendary Vijay Amritraj. Amritraj, an icon of resilience and sportsmanship, epitomises the values this tournament embodies—a relentless pursuit of excellence with grit and determination. His presence on the course is a testament to the spirit of sportsmanship and its ability to transcend boundaries.
Beyond the honour of triumph, the winners received attractive prizes including couple stay vouchers and couple dining vouchers from across hotels within The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts portfolio. These awards go beyond mere material recognition; they acknowledge the dedication, perseverance, and excellence exhibited on the course.
