MX Player’s latest series ‘Mrs & Mr Kohli’ is a story of couple who like to live it differently

Romance across generations has shifted to make way for modern love stories where couples do not hesitate to break stereotypes and define the new norm. Exploring this paradigm shift is the new MX Exclusive and a Mirchi Play Original - ‘Mrs & Mr. Kohli’, a rom-com that explores love but with role reversals. This Punjabi web series is dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and will see Sara Kohli (played by Sara Gurpal) and Sapan Kohli (Essayed by Sahil Vedoliyaa) take us through a different perspective of love, expectations, fears, insecurities and the everyday shenanigans that this role reversal brings to their life.

The trailer of this6 episodic series has just dropped and it chronicles the life of a married couple who have their ‘expected’ responsibilities swapped. The wife goes to work, while the husband is a homemaker. Sara and Sapan try to live life, not king size but differently. From dealing with a surprise guest who doesn’t know he is a house husband to fighting over butter chicken and paneer, let’s see what this unusual love story brings to our screens.

Talking about her character, Sara Gurpal says, “Even though the name of my character is Sara, she and I are two very different people. Having said that, we’re both strong headed and ambitious. The show brings out the everyday banter and routine of a couple who have changed their responsibilities in the relationship. It’s a different take yet fun and relatable.”

Adding to this, Sahil Vedoliyaa says that, “In trying times like these, I’m glad that a show like ours can entertain and bring a quick smile to the audiences’ face. The episodes are small, binge-able and a hatke take on new age relationships and I hope the audiences enjoy it as much as we did while working on it.”

‘Mr & Mrs Kohli’ is written by Harsh Rana, directed by Dheeraj Padhiyar and is exclusively available on MX Player.

MX Player’s Ek Thi Begum tells the untold story of a woman’ s revenge against the most dangerous underworld gangster!

Inspired by true events – this bilingual MX Original Series can be streamed for free starting April 8^th

There’s a saying ‘Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’; this begum’s untold story is an epitome of this saying. Set in the 1980s in Mumbai, a time when organized crime was at its peak, MX Original Series -  Ek thi Begum chronicles the life of a beautiful, gutsy woman Ashraf Bhatkar aka Sapna (played by Anuja Sathe). Life as she knew it changed when the city’s biggest don Maqsood (Ajay Gehi) turned responsible for the death of her husband Zaheer (Ankit Mohan). Inspired by true events, MX Player brings viewers the story of begum Ashraf aka Sapna who turned femme fatale and vowed to avenge her beloved’s killer. This bilingual MX Original Series will stream for FREE on MX Player, starting 8 April.

The trailer of this revenge drama dropped today, and the 14 episodic series is created, written & directed by Sachin Darekar. Talking about the project, he said, “This narrative brilliantly captures the resilient strength of a woman who was pushed to the brink but emerges as a dominant force. All the characters play a crucial role in the story and they have truly brought this project alive with their performance.” 

This series sees Anuja Sathe play the lead role of Ashraf Bhatkar aka Sapna. On portraying such a strong character, she said, “We’ve usually seen films and stories on the mafia/ dons helmed by men, this story talks about a woman rising above her sorrows and becoming the Mafia Queen of her time. I’ve portrayed a variety of roles before, but this is an opportunity that I just couldn’t let go of. Ashraf has many shades to her and reflecting that on screen was a challenge that I wanted to take up. It took immense emotional and mental investment. I hope that people appreciate and enjoy the series as much as we did while making it.”

Along with Anuja Sathe, this riveting series sees a robust cast including Ankit Mohan, Chinmay Mandlekar, Rajendra Shisatkar, Resham, Abhijeet Chavan, Pradip Doiphode, Vithal Kale, Nazarr Khan, Vijay Nikam, Anil Nagarkar, Suchit Jadhav, Raju Aathavale and Santosh Juvekar amongst others in pivotal roles.

Kabir Bedi Makes His Digital Debut with MX Player’s ‘Kiska Hoga Thinkistan Season 2’!

We know Kabir Bedi as the villian in Khoon Bhari Maang or as General Bakshi in Main Hoon Na! Now, the legendary actor, presenter and voice over artiste is all set to make his digital debut this September! Adding to the ensemble cast of MX Player’s ‘Kiska Hoga Thinkistan Season 2’, he will be seen playing a crucial character - Danish, who is the owner of the ad agency ‘MTMC’.

The actor is one of the few artistes whose career spans across the U.S, Italy and India in multiple fields and we’re surely excited to see him finally step onto the digital bandwagon!

Talking more about his debut and character Kabir says, “I initially came to Bombay to become a filmmaker, and I worked in advertising for five years. The story for this web series brought back many memories. I play the owner of the ad agency whose way of dealing with crisis’ is compelling. For me, it’s been a wonderful Guest Appearance in the digital space.”

While season one of MX Player’s ‘Thinkistan’ gave you a sneak peek into the world of advertising, ‘Kiska Hoga Thinkistan Season 2’ offers viewers high octane drama, politics and interpersonal rivalry that goes on inside the four walls of the agency.
