The film touches emotional chords with its quintessential family dynamics that we see in our everyday lives, making it a relatable drama celebrating the pure spirit of togetherness. ‘Ab parivaar ke atoot pyaar ki kahaani dekhiye poore parivaar ke saath’ with the World Television Premiere of Raksha Bandhan on Saturday, 24th December, at 8pm. 

Bringing the earnesty of a big brother we have Akshay Kumar as Lala Kedarnath along with Bhumi Pednekar, Sadia Khateeb, Deepika Khanna, Smriti Srikanth and Sahejmeen Kaur and others giving strong performances for their characters.

Zee Cinema is known to bring quality films that reflect family values, Raksha Bandhan is also one such offering. In order to promote the film in a unique and engaging way, the film was shown to people through specially held shows across the country and their genuine reactions were captured. The reactions to the film were nothing short of overwhelming. The movie made them laugh, cry, think and by the end of it, they were the ones telling us why the film is a must watch!

Whilst talking about the film, Akshay Kumar added, “The movie openly celebrates the importance of family relationships. Raksha Bandhan is very real, the characters talk about things just like any normal family. I think a big part of why I chose to do this film is because it made me think about my own life. It was all incredibly nostalgic since it was filmed in the bylanes of Chandni Chowk, and all the happy and sad moments with my on-screen sisters brought back memories of my childhood. My sister was my first friend and my confidante; our relationship is unbreakable, so I am very attached to the film emotionally”

Aanand L Rai said, “Rakshabandhan was one such emotion which I was really looking forward to live it up in the film. Brother sister unconditional bond has always  fascinated me. Couldn’t see any one else than Akshay Sir to lend justice this character which so true and which hides nothing. And regarding Bhumi I have yet to work with an actress who is so dedicated to her character and so fearless in her approach. And Thank you audiences for all the love and affection. I intend to keep bringing you movies that will make you smile, make you cry, make you fall in love and be moved”.

Lala Kedarnath, the eldest brother to four sisters, promises his frail mother on her deathbed that he will only get married after he fulfils the responsibility of marrying his sisters into suitable homes first. Will he be able to honour his promise?
