Saajha Sindoor actress Stuti Vinkle on Janmashtami: I really enjoy is the evening jhankis at the temple

Janmashtami is a festival of joy and devotion, celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna and his divine teachings. As Janmashtami approaches, actress Stuti Vinkle, who stars as Phooli in Sun Neo's Saajha Sindoor, shares her celebration plans, favourite aspects of the festival, childhood memories, and the lessons she's learned from Lord Krishna.
Regarding her celebration plans this year, Stuti Vinkle said, "While I may be shooting for Sun Neo's Saajha Sindoor, I will be enjoying the festival to the fullest with my team. I really enjoy preparing special dishes at home for Janmashtami. Even though I can't manage a full chappan bhog, I still try to make as much as I can. I used to prepare everything with my mom, and I was wondering how I would manage this time. Fortunately, my mom has come from Delhi to be with me, so I'll definitely find time to cook with her help, even while managing my shoots. And of course, I always keep a fast on Janmashtami, so I’ll be fasting this year as well."
Stuti shared her favourite part of Janmashtami: "What I really enjoy is the evening jhankis at the temple. Everyone gathers there, and even though we are fasting, there's incredible energy in the air. People are dancing, their faces lit up with a unique glow, maintaining that energy throughout the night. The most special moment for me is during the welcoming of Krishna's birth—the energy at that time is truly amazing."
Reflecting on her childhood, Stuti recalled a memorable experience: "I remember one time during childhood, I went to a Janmashtami fair with my friends. There was a cave setup where you walk through cold water—I'm not sure if they do that in Mumbai. Everything was beautifully decorated, and while I was there, someone noticed me and said, 'Oh, you look so lovely! Let’s make you Radha.'"
She continued, "I was wearing a lehenga, and they did my makeup and dressed me as Radha. At first, I was really nervous, but then I really enjoyed it. It was raining that day, as it often does during Janmashtami. I remember sitting in the temple with all the other little Radha and Krishna kids, drinking phooti. That memory is very special to me."
Saajha Sindoor, airing on Sun Neo, centers on Phooli, a young woman who is deemed an unmarried widow after her groom dies on their wedding day. As she faces the challenges of her fate, viewers will be intrigued by how destiny influences her journey and those around her. The show features a stellar cast, including Sangita Ghosh, Sahil Uppal, Neelu Vaghela, and Krutika Desai, promising a compelling portrayal of emotions and relationships set against the backdrop of Rajasthan's aristocracy.
*Tune into Sun Neo to watch Saajha Sindoor, every Monday to Saturday at 8 PM.*
