Colossal Showcase of Uttar Pradesh Draws Record-Breaking Footfall on Day - 2Grand Sourcing Gala Draws Over 18K Buyers and 40K Visitors on Day Two of Mega Event

26 September 2024, Greater Noida: Day 2 of UP International Trade Show (UPITS) 2024 witnessed an impressive surge in attendance, drawing significant footfall from both domestic and international buyers. Held at the India Expo Centre & Mart, this second edition of the event has firmly cemented its impact on the business and trade landscape of Uttar Pradesh. The dignitaries who attended the event on Day 2 include Shri Rakesh Sachan, Cabinet Minister for MSME, Khadi & Village Industries, Sericulture, Handloom & Textile, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Shri Sunil Kumar Sharma, Minister of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of Uttar Pradesh and Smt. Shilvi Kumari, Commissioner Meerut.
Shri Rakesh Sachan, Cabinet Minister for MSME, Khadi & Village Industries, Sericulture, Handloom & Textiles, expressed his delight at the overwhelming participation and enthusiasm for the "Made in UP" products. He underscored the significant exposure certain product lines have received, particularly those promoted under the ODOP (One District One Product) scheme and GI (Geographical Indication) tags. The state government has ensured seamless connections between buyers and sellers, especially for products in high demand. These businesses need continued focus and promotion to scale up globally, in alignment with Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath's vision of making Uttar Pradesh a USD 1 trillion economy. 
Shri Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary of Sports, Youth Affairs, MSME, Khadi & Village Industries, and Handloom & Textile, Government of Uttar Pradesh said UPITS 2024 highlights the Uttar Pradesh government's strong commitment to advancing the state’s trade prospects. With an overwhelming response already, UPITS 2024 is shaping up to be a landmark event, showcasing Uttar Pradesh as a cultural and economic powerhouse, and positioning it as a must-visit destination for buyers.
One of the day's major highlights was the Vietnam-India Forum and the UP-Vietnam Tourism Conclave, hosted by the event's Partner Country, Vietnam. The conclave focused on enhancing cultural and strategic partnerships, particularly around the Buddha Circuit. The event saw participation from the Ambassador of Vietnam to India, H.E. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Shri Rakesh Sachan, Cabinet Minister for MSME, GoUP; Shri Sunil Kumar Sharma, Minister of Electronics & Information Technology, GoUP, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, India Exposition Mart Ltd., and dignitaries from Vietnam.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Exposition Mart Ltd. lauded Vietnam's participation as a ‘Partner Country’, stating that the partnership has added immense value to the trade show, blending the flavours of both countries. He expressed confidence that this collaboration will go beyond the event, strengthening strategic and trade relationships between the two nations.
The knowledge sessions in Hall No. 2 also attracted significant attendance, with three back-to-back sessions covering key topics for emerging entrepreneurs, budding industries, start-ups, and new business aspirants. The session on ‘Innovation and Start-Up’ and organized by Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) students were briefed on AKTU’s initiatives to promote student excellence. Professor J.P. Pandey, Vice Chancellor of AKTU, delivered a presentation on AKTU's Blueprint for Success, highlighting the journey from academic excellence to entrepreneurial impact. Mr. Mahip Singh, Head of Innovation Hub AKTU, and Ms. Vandana Sharma, Manager of Innovation Hub AKTU, elaborated on how the Innovation Hub is empowering entrepreneurs and startups in Uttar Pradesh and helping unlock funding for local startups.
The final session of the day focused on success stories of industry-academia collaborations for youth skill development, moderated by Professor Ravindra Kumar Sinha, Vice Chancellor of Gautam Budh University.
The B2B meetings at the UP International Trade Show 2024 have been highly productive, allowing participants to forge valuable business connections and explore new opportunities garnered significant interest, attracting a curious and engaged audience throughout the event.
Attendees concluded the day on a high note, enjoying cultural performances and relishing the diverse delicacies of Uttar Pradesh after a rewarding day of sourcing and shopping.
