Vi Aagomoni marked the start of Durga Puja in Bengal

Vi Aagomoni the flagship musical property of the leading telecom operator Vi, today has become the tradition of Bengal on the eve of Mahalaya. Like every year, this Mahalaya too, the audiences witnessed a high octave performance as the music maestros like Bollywood singer Javed Ali, legendary percussionist Ustad Taufiq Qureshi and Dr. Prakash Sontakke along with Bengal’s very own Lopamudra Mitra tuned to the Sargam. 

Famous Bengali actress Srabanti Chatterjee also played Durga for the first time in her career as she told a unique story of women empowerment wrapped in Mahishasurmardini.

Vi also honored Lopamudra Mitra for her immense contribution to Indian music and continuously entertaining the music lovers for three decades. Celebrating Lopamudra Mitra’s completion of 30 years in Indian music industry, Sukanta Das, Cluster Business Head, Vi presented a special Durga Idol to the living legend.

Commenting on Vi Aagomoni, Lopamudra Mitra said “I am an age old Vi customer and my relationship with Vi is of more than a decade. It’s always pleasure to perform at Vi Aagomoni as pujo begins with Vi Aagomoni.”

Performing at Vi Aagomoni, renowned singer Javed Ali said “We are extremely delighted to come to Kolkata and perform at Vi Aagomoni as Bengal’s biggest festival Durga pujo begins today at Vi Aagomoni from here itself”

This year’s Vi Aagomoni also had the legendary percussionist Ustad Taufiq Qureshi performing for the audiences. As the audiences witnessed a magical performance by the music maestro, commenting on performing at Vi Aagomoni Taufiq Qureshi said “It’s always incredible to perform in Kolkata and it’s my second time performing in Vi Aagomoni. This is like homecoming to me. I am extremely delighted today as the pujo begins with Vi Aagomoni from here”    

Offering larger user base across India an opportunity to watch their favourite Vi Aagomoni live, Vi had organized live streaming of the musical extravaganza on Vi App. And reiterating Bengalis love for Vi Aagomoni, more than 1 lakh people watched the show live on the Vi App on the eve of Mahalaya. 

Providing an opportunity to engage with more audiences, Vi had also organized live streaming of Vi Aagomoni in two Puja Pandals- Chaturango Puja Committee, Durgapur and Cholkhali Sarbojonin, Berhampore.
