Pune, May 30, 2024: Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune, joined hands with the esteemed Department of Respiratory Medicine under the aegis of Indian Chest Society, to orchestrate 'ACINUS 2024' - a three-day annual conference held from May 23rd - May 25th.
This conference served as a reservoir of knowledge, featuring eminent speakers from India’s prestigious colleges and institutes, addressing a spectrum of topics ranging from Tuberculosis, Lung Transplantation, Pulmonary Infections, critical care and more. This year’s conference themed ‘Masterclass by the experts’ had academicians who are masters in delivering education in most comprehensive and practical manner.
Chief Guest, Dr. Farokh E. Udwadia, Padma Bhushan Awardee, Physician & Intesivist, stated, "ACINUS 2024 has been an eye-opening experience. The depth of knowledge and innovative approaches shared by leading experts will truly pave the way for advancements in patient care." He also added, “It’s inspiring to see the commitment of the institute and we are sure that such collaborations and exchange of ideas will be enhancing the quality of life for individuals affected by these conditions.”
Dr. Yashraj Patil, Trustee and Treasurer of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pimpri, Pune, emphasized the significance of academic-industry partnerships and said, "The collaboration and exchange of ideas that took place will certainly lead to advancements in critical patient care as well as medical research. Dr. J. S. Bhawalkar, Dean of Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune , highlighted the importance of such gatherings, stating, “We are honoured to host ACINUS 2024. This event represents a significant opportunity for leading experts, clinicians, and researchers to come together and share the latest advancements and best practices in these critical areas of healthcare.”
Dr. M. S. Barthwal, Professor & HOD, Respiratory Medicine, Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune, reiterated that organizing such a massive event is a collaborative effort. He further added, "We have made a lot of efforts in preparing a scientific programme with the focus on practical clinical problems with an Indian perspective and with ample time for deliberations. We have chosen the gems of speakers, who apart from masters in their respective fields also have great expertise in delivering education in the most effective manner.

The forum aimed to focus on emerging technologies, cutting edge treatments for respiratory diseases, innovations in critical care and advancements in sleep medicines. ACINUS 2024 also witnessed an intercollegiate quiz for all three days.
