Nahargarh Ranthambore Celebrates One Year of Going Green with Solar Plant

New Delhi, October 16, 2024: Nahargarh Ranthambore, the exuberant Palace Hotel in Rajasthan celebrates one year of going green. Situated amidst the lush forest of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, Shri Gaj Singh Ji, Owner at Alsisar Group of Hotels sought to reduce the carbon footprint to zero and utilize the land for a farm-to-table concept for their guests. This one year milestone marks Shri Gaj Singh Ji’s commitment to sustainability and wildlife conservation.

The  400kW Agrivoltaic solar plant, integrated with agricultural activities allows banana farming along the plants perimeter, optimizing land use and creating an eco-friendly environment for guests. The 400kW Solar PV System with the Galvanized Structure of 3.5-meter minimum height has helped in utilizing the space which otherwise would've been blocked for the next 25 Years. This project has contributed significantly to palace’s goal of achieving energy independence while promoting sustainable tourism.

"We are proud to complete one year of going green. The journey to embrace renewable energy was more than just a business decision—it was a reflection of my deep love for nature and the wildlife that surrounds us. For me, preserving the environment is not an option; its a responsibility. With Vareyn Solars help, weve been able to take a meaningful step toward reducing our impact on the planet, while continuing our mission to support wildlife conservation," shared Shri Gaj Singh Ji, Owner at Alsisar Group of Hotels.

In its first year, the solar plant has generated approximately 6 lakh units of energy, offsetting nearly 300,000 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions. This green initiative showcases the hotels leadership in sustainable hospitality, providing a roadmap for similar establishments to adopt renewable energy. This project is set to make a significant environmental impact, generating green energy equivalent to offsetting the carbon emissions of a 200-acre forest over its operational life. Moreover, the economic benefits are substantial, with a projected return on investment within just two years and an estimated revenue generation of approximately 48% for the next 23 years.

Installed by Vareyn Solar Pvt. Ltd, India's leading turn-key solar EPC under the CAPEX+ Model, the project has been a game changer for Alsisar Group of Hotels. This unique model by Vareyn offers collateral-free finance at a competitive 8% interest rate, along with two years of maintenance and services such as regular panel cleaning, discom billing support, and insurance with zero depreciation. The plant, equipped with advanced Navitas Mono PERC panels and Sungrow Inverters, has helped reduce the luxury hotel’s monthly electricity bills and continues to operate with a minimal payback period of two years.
