Ace actor Vaishnavi Macdonald reveals she is a certified nutritionist; shares some healthy tips this National Nutrition week

Mumbai, 1 September 2020: We have always heard that a well-balanced diet, with a combination of all essential nutrients plays a pivotal role in the overall development of our body, but how many of us take it seriously and follow it?  To create further awareness about the importance of having nutritious meals which not only takes care of physical attributes but also mental strength, India annually observes National Nutrition week from 1st to 7th September. It is said, you are what you eat, inspired by this saying ace actor Vaishnavi MacDonald revealed that she is a certified nutritionist and shares her journey in the world of healthy eating.

Actors are known for being conscious about their appearance and often consult a dietitian. Understanding that physical and mental wellbeing is one of the key criteria for their success, Vaishnavi MacDonald who is currently essaying the role of Surajmukhi in Dangal’s Aye Mere Humsafar deep dived to be a nutritionist herself. Talking about her experience as a nutritionist, she says, “A lot of people don’t know that I am a certified nutritionist. I was always interested in nutrition and health because I feel it is important and the current scenario is a testimony of it. When I got an opportunity, I did an extensive course and now I can even practice and open a clinic. Even though I haven't opened one yet, I try to practice it with my close friends and family. It is always good to learn a new skill as it helps to keep your mind young. I feel it is necessary to follow a healthy diet not only for the physical benefits but mental positivity too.”

Sharing her expertise about how to follow a balanced diet she says, “I generally follow and suggest to have maximum carbs in the afternoon which consists of brown rice, chapati, along with a bowl of curd, raita, salad, sprouts, etc. As your munchies you can have roasted chana with tadka of ghee, puff rice, khakra, makhana all this proves to be healthy as well as tasty. Eat nuts, green leafy vegetables and vegetables of all colors because each color of vegetable corresponds to a certain part of your body. Dairy products that include curd, buttermilk are very good for your stomach as it helps to keep good bacteria in your stomach intact. Even including little ghee, coconut oil or olive oil can be good for health. Sometimes if one tends to overeat a little it won't harm your body unlike when one overeats oily and junk food. If we stick to all these things, we have nothing to worry about.”

According to Vaishnavi Macdonald, having a spiritual outlook towards life is important. It is necessary for your mind and soul to be healthy for your body to prosper. Your thought process, your imagination and positive outlook towards life matters a lot along with nutrition. Nutrition is not about what goes into your mouth but also about what comes within you.

Let’s follow the ‘health is wealth’ mantra and pledge to eat healthy and stay immune.

Whistling Woods International pays tribute to Dadasaheb Phalke to commemorate his 150th birth anniversary

August 31, 2020, Mumbai: Whistling Woods International (WWI) has been synonymous with being a pioneer in film, communication and creative arts education in India. As Asia’ premier institute it takes pride in paying tribute to a visionary pioneer, who not only made India’s first full-length feature film but paved a path of dreams and aspiration for generations to follow – Late Shri. Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, popularly known as Dadasaheb Phalke.

The short, insightful video created by the students and faculty of WWI pays tribute to Dadasaheb Phalke and his legacy on his 150th birth anniversary. He directed and produced the nation’ first full-length feature film, Raja Harishchandra in 1913, leading him to be known as the ‘Father of Indian Cinema’. Being an alumnus of Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, and Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, he made 95 feature-length films and 27 short films. Through the course of his career, he took a brief retirement during which he wrote a 7-act play that was staged over 2 days owing to its length. In 2009, the Marathi film, Harishchandrachi Factory, based on Dadasaheb Phalke’ life and struggle to make India’ first film was submitted for Oscars under the Foreign Language Film category.

Appreciating the tribute paid by the students and faculty of WWI, Chandrashekhar Pusalkar, maternal grandson of Dadasaheb Phalke said, “In 1927, during an interview my grandfather, Dada, had expressed a wish that there should be an institute, which imparts education and training in cinema. Today, Whistling Woods International is fulfilling his dream by training thousands of students in the field of film and creative arts. It feels great and I’m immensely happy to see the students and faculty of Whistling Woods International observing the 150th  birth anniversary of the Father of Indian Cinema and paying a grand tribute to him through this video.”

“It’s a great honour and privilege for us, as an institute, to pay tribute to Dadasaheb Phalke, the Father of Indian Cinema, one of the most respected personalities of Indian film industry. The video-tribute briefly chronicles his journey and I’m proud of our faculty and students who took the initiative to create this video”, said Meghna Ghai Puri, Whistling Woods International.

While the video-tribute has been directed and designed by Jasbinder Singh, Faculty, WWI School of Animation & Game Design along with the support of the students, it has been narrated by Anjum Rajabali, renowned screenwriter and HOD-Screenwriting Dept., WWI School of Filmmaking.

On that note, actress Prachi Tehlan says “Lockdown has had an impact on all areas of our life, including the way we look for love. I was fortunate to take this lockdown period as an opportunity to get into the new phase of life, without unnecessary grandeur and glory, in presence of the near and dear ones only. Lastly, I urge the audience to shower this show with their love and appreciation as we gear up to watch the story of a modern-day fashion designer and a desi banker who meet amid a Lockdown situation.”

AN EMOTIONAL TRIBUTE TO OUR BRAVE FRONTLINE HEROES! - VOICES UNITED

Watch now on YouTube - https://bit.ly/32xPeYf

~ Usha Uthup, Shilpa Rao, Raghu Dixit, Javed Ali, Swetha Mohan with 9 other talented artists reimpose the evergreen track Hum Honge Kamyaab with emotional approach to honour the brave frontline heroes ~

Hyderabad, 31st August, 2020: Metalloid Productions in partnership with UNESCO – New Delhi and Dukes India as the primary sponsor launch Voices United - Hum Honge Kamyaab with a contemporary and multilingual twist.

Voices United - Hum Honge Kamyab is a multi-lingual audio-video track sung by 14 talented artists from across the country to honour and pay a tribute to our brave frontline heroes who have been working tirelessly to keep us safe and battling tooth and nail in these trying times.

The track also aims to raise funds for Magic Bus Foundation towards their Crisis Recovery programme in India. They have been at the forefront of Covid-19 relief efforts, having provided dry ration kits to more than 4 lakh people.

“Independent India has not faced as big a challenge as we have in the last few months. The pandemic, the economy crashing, the migrants-crisis, the possibility of war and lives lost have left us, collectively, in a very dark place. We recomposed this song to try and lift the mood of the nation and make it the Nation’s Anthem of Hope! We thank the artists, our sponsor Dukes India and partner UNESCO – New Delhi for trusting us and playing a key role in bringing this project to life.” says Pritish Kollati, CMD, Metalloid Productions when asked about the idea and reason behind the track.

A Journey of Instilling Faith and Social Cohesion

In the past few months, there have been many reasons to lose hope and faith, but the one reason to assure us we will make it through is the strength of our unity. India has shown the world, that together, we shall overcome any obstacle. India is not just a country; India is an emotion. India is the epitome of “Hum Honge Kamyaab”, of Voices United.

“When we set out to make this song, we had a simple brief for Karthik, our music composer, we need a song like Rahmanji’s Vande Mataram, not just in how epic it was, but to also serve the same purpose - unite our country and pay a soulful tribute. We are very pleased with the way Karthik and the team have brought out the essence of unity. I am also very delighted about how beautifully the song has shaped up. You are surely in for a treat!” Aditya Ponugoti, CMO, Metalloid Productions

Shot and recorded from their homes, the track showcases the passion and dedication the artists have towards their art. Beautifully recomposed and directed by the Cinephile Pictures team, we hope to make legends like Rahman ji, Asha Bhosle ji proud of the track and give our viewers hope, faith and goosebumps. We hope to honour our brave frontline heroes who worked tirelessly day and night and still are to keep us safe.

Our Pursuit of Unity and Hope

“UNESCO New Delhi is delighted to partner with Metalloid Productions, in this initiative.  The Preamble to the Constitution of UNESCO states that ‘since wars begin in the minds of men and women, it is in the minds of men and women that the defences of peace must be constructed’.  Therefore, in times of constraints and restrictions on our daily routines, we hope that this music will encourage the people to come together to face the current COVID 19 pandemic with valour.”  Eric Falt, Director of UNESCO New Delhi

With the majority of the world still under lockdown, the consumption of content has primarily shifted to digital platforms. Music has been one of the most accessible forms of stress relievers and mood boosters during the pandemic. It gives an opportunity to listeners to stand together while staying distanced and that is exactly what this initiative aims to accomplish.

Dukes India Spreading Joy With Foods That Create Joy

In these unprecedented times, when the world needs every sign of hope, when every act of joy and kindness means more than ever, Dukes India is proud to be the presenting sponsor of Voices United. A song that is not only an anthem to lift our spirits, but a meaningful, creative effort that will restore incomes of 2,00,000 families and keep 3,00,000 children in school. Over the past few months everyone at Dukes has been unwavering in their solidarity with the nation. Each of their employees was contributing a day’s salary to the PM Cares Fund, donating blood or distributing free biscuits to frontline healthcare workers in hospitals and feeding stranded migrants, every act has been an affirmation of their mission, of spreading joy with foods that create joy.

As we battle economic challenges, their emotional impact and the dark uncertainties of Covid 19, we want music to offer a ray of hope as well as faith in our strength as a nation that stands united cutting across all lines, all differences to fight this.” said Mr. Ravinder Agarwal, Managing Director of Dukes India, known for his philanthropic work.

Charity Partnership with Magic Bus

Speaking on the associationMatthew Spacie, Founder, Magic Bus, said, “We are proud to be associated with UNESCO and Metalloid Productions who have given us the opportunity to be the exclusive charity partner for Voices United. With their invaluable support, we will be well on our journey to rehabilitate 2,00,000 families who have lost their income as a result of the pandemic, and ensure none of their children drop out of school but continue with their formal education, uninterrupted.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on the lives and livelihoods of people living in poverty. Going beyond relief, Magic Bus is working on a Crisis Recovery programme that will  ensure 2.00,000 families are connected to employment opportunities and government schemes. This in turn, will keep 3,00,000 children from being pushed into child labour, child trafficking or early marriage and ensure they stay in schools, complete their education, and get better employment opportunities.

IndiGrid completes acquisition of GPTL Transmission project from Sterlite Power at an enterprise value of ~INR 10.8 Bn (USD 150 Mn)

Key Highlights

·         IndiGrid’s AUM increases by ~9% to ~INR 133 Bn (USD 1.80 Bn)

·         GPTL consists of 3 GIS of 3,000 MVA capacity and ~270 ckms of 400 KV transmission lines

·         Acquisition adds ~INR 350-400 Mn of net distributable cash flow per year

Mumbai, Monday, August 31, 2020: India Grid Trust (“IndiGrid”), India’s leading infrastructure investment trust, today completed acquisition of another transmission asset - Gurgaon Palwal Transmission Limited (“GPTL”), from Sterlite Power at an enterprise value of ~INR 10.8 Bn (USD 150 Mn). With this acquisition, IndiGrid’s AUM has increased by ~9% to ~INR 133 Bn (USD 1.80 Bn). IndiGrid’s asset portfolio will now consist of 10 power transmission projects, with a total network of 25 power transmission lines and 7 substations extending over ~6,080 circuit kilometres & 10,735 MVA in 15 Indian states.

GPTL is part of Inter State Transmission Scheme (ISTS) network and consists of three gas-insulated substations (GIS) with a total transformation capacity of 3,000 MVA and ~270 circuit kilometers of 400 KV transmission lines spread across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan. This project is built with a substantial focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects. It is a strategic asset for ensuring reliable power supply in the region which may reduce the carbon emissions by reducing dependence on DG sets. The land requirement for this project is also substantially reduced with innovatively designed vertical GIS substation and monopole towers with micro-piling.

The acquisition of GPTL was envisaged as part of the framework agreement signed with Sterlite Power in April 2019 for acquisition of three assets upon commissioning. This acquisition has been funded by internal accruals, proceeds from the preference issue done in May 2019 and new debt. With this investment, IndiGrid’s net debt/AUM will be at ~53%, significantly below the 70% leverage threshold as per SEBI InvIT Regulations.

Commenting on the acquisition, Harsh Shah, Chief Executive Officer of IndiGrid, said “This acquisition is in line with our strategy to acquire accretive assets with low operating risk and long-term certainty of cash flows. We continue our efforts to increase unitholders’ returns by creating a solid growth pipeline for the future while providing predictable distribution. IndiGrid has another ~INR 55 Bn (USD 750 Mn) pipeline of transmission projects under the framework agreement with Sterlite Power providing visibility of ~INR 180 Bn (USD 2.50 Bn) of AUM over next two years. This acquisition is a testament to our consistent track record of aggregating good quality projects with the vision of enhancing investor returns while maintaining a strong balance sheet. “

Commenting on the transaction, Anuraag Srivastava, Group CFO, Sterlite Power, said, “We are proud to successfully close yet another asset sale in these unprecedented times. GPTL sale marks our ninth asset transfer to India Grid Trust. With this, we have transferred about ~INR 123 Bn (USD 1.70 Bn) worth transmission assets to IndiGrid till date. The sale of this strategic project amidst a challenging market situation is a clear validation of the pioneering asset monetization model and our ability to commission high quality projects with long term stable cash flows. We look forward to commissioning more assets and transfer about another ~INR 55 Bn (INR 750 Mn) worth of assets to IndiGrid over a period of time.”

In FY20, IndiGrid raised ~INR 25.1 Bn (USD 340 Mn) of capital by way of preferential issue which was subscribed by KKR and GIC amongst other marquee investors. It acquired NRSS XXIX and OGPTL projects from Sterlite Power for ~INR 50 Bn (USD 680 Mn). In addition to that, it had entered into an exclusive framework agreement with Sterlite Power to acquire three projects worth ~INR 65 Bn (USD 890 Mn) as and when they are commissioned, of which GPTL has now been acquired by IndiGrid. KKR also acquired majority interest in the Investment Manager of IndiGrid.
