Birbal Sports ropes in Deepak Punia and Ravi Kumar

Mumbai 7th November: World No.1 wrestler Deepak Punia and Indian freestyle Wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya have joined hands with Birbal sports who will exclusively manage and promote these athletes. This comes after their very successful run during the UWW World Wrestling Championships at Nur Sultan where they bagged the silver and bronze respectively. 
Deepak is the first Indian in 18 years to win a Junior World Championship title. He won the Cadet world championship in 2016 and missed out on a bronze in the junior worlds in 2017. In 2018 he won the silver medal in Slovakia. Meanwhile,  Ravi Kumar Dahiya claimed a bronze medal on his debut World Championships by stunning Asian Champion Reza Atri Nagarchi of Iran.  Both the players have secured their berth for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and have a fighting chance at securing a medal.

N – Victory Insights, the School’s Young Entrepreneur project consultant with a dynamic instructional design last four years on Skill development, Experiential learning modules with full support of the Management, and Principal, Dr. Srinivasa Raghavan’s able Leadership. The current Class XI batch has been having Young Entrepreneur Sessions with Mrs. Padmaja S. N since the academic year of 2016-17 where students learned various brush calligraphy, soap making, photography, phenyl, perfume, detergent, shampoo, lip balms, jewellery, lanterns, ‘Best from Waste’ products, paper sculpture, wire sculpture, murals, clay modeling, chocolate making, designer candles, snow globes, tie and dye, block printing, packaging, card making, success vision, ‘The Magic of Thinking Big’, CRM, negotiation, market research, resilience, budgets, basic banking, coasters, posters, logo designing, planters, lip scrubs, lipsticks, stenciling, bag making, public speaking, presentation skills, self- image, creativity, problem solving, innovation, team building, compost making, fluid art, silhouette where many professionals of these fields taught students the technique, rules and challenges of them. Maanya and Pranav Krishna were a part of the Stage MC Team while Eugine, Sriram and Sri Jayakrishnan were a part of the hospitality team. Shambhavi was the Conclave Anchor. These are few of the hundreds of stars which formed a wonderful galaxy on 29th November. The Chief Guest, Mr. Gowtham Bharadwaj and Guest of Honour, Mr. Chetan Korada were warmly welcomed by the band team and hospitality team. Speakers of the event were introduced by the students, who spoke with a strong and bold voice in front of a huge crowd. The event ended with their mentor, Mrs. Padmaja, introducing all students who were a part of various teams to the audience. The event was well managed by the students with professionalism and smartness which led to a grand success of India’s first Business Conclave hosted by school students.

~ Wave of laughter and gaiety fill the air as kids accompanied by their guardians explore the ship anchored at Bandra - Worli Sealink.
November 30, 2019 :  Mumbai :  A group of kids accompanied by their guardians arrived onboard the Mumbai Maiden cruise ship, at the Bandra jetty today morning.  The kids from Jidd Special School run by the Thane Municipal Corporation were visiting the ship for a fun day trip onboard.
Some apprehensive but awed by the sea looked around with wonder, holding the hands of their respective guardians, and slowly as they were lead around the various decks of the ship, they let their guard down - dancing, clapping, singing and making merry. 
“It is an absolutely wonderful feeling to see the joy on the faces of these kids, the laughter and shout out of thank you overwhelmed me and we feel more determined to make the experience for our visitors a one of a kind unique one.” Said Sanjeev Agarwal, CEO Mumbai Maiden Cruise.

Union Minority Affairs Minister Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said that Madrasa teachers are being trained to impart education in mainstream formal subjects like Hindi, Maths, Science, English, Computer, Marathi and other regional languages.
Addressing the valedictory session of Madarsa teachers training at Anjuman-e-Islam in Mumbai today, Shri Naqvi said that besides religious teaching, Urdu, Arabic and other languages, Madrasa teachers are also being provided training for mainstream formal education like Hindi, Maths, English, Science, Computer etc.
Union Minority Affairs Ministry launched a campaign about 4 years ago to connect Madrasas with mainstream formal education system. Shri Naqvi also distributed certificates to Madarsa teachers from different states on the occasion.
Shri Naqvi said that “Tehrike Talim” has proved to be an effective mission to connect Madrasas with formal education system. A large number of Madrasa teachers have been trained in mainstream education. It is heartening that these teachers include a large number of female teachers.
Under the programme to connect Madrasas with formal education, more than 300 teachers from Madrasas from various states have been trained by the Ministry of Minority Affairs in the first six months of the Modi Government-2. These teachers are being provided training from reputed institutions of the country such as Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Jamia Hamdrad and others.
Shri Naqvi said that Ministry of Minority Affairs has been working on war footing to provide affordable, accessible and quality education to six notified Minority communities- Jain, Parsi, Buddhist, Christian, Sikh and Muslims.
Shri Naqvi said that the Modi Government has connected thousands of Madrasas and other educational institutions belonging to Minority communities with “3T- Teacher, Tiffin, Toilet”.
Shri Naqvi said that around 20 lakh students from six notified Minority communities- Jain, Parsi, Buddhist, Christian, Sikh and Muslims- have been given pre-matric, post-matric, merit-cum-means and other scholarships in the first six months of the Modi Government-2.
Shri Naqvi said that due to the efforts of the Modi Government, school dropout rate among girl students from Minority communities, which was more than 70 per cent in 2014, has now come down to about 35 per cent. We will bring it down to zero per cent.
Shri Naqvi said that basic infrastructure is being constructed on large scale under “Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karykram” (PMJVK) to ensure educational empowerment of Minorities especially girls.
Under “Pradhanmantri Jan Vikas Karykram”, 104 Common Service Centres have been approved across the country in the first six months of the Modi Govt-2. These centres will work as a single-window system for the needy people to provide information regarding Central Government schemes as well as to assist them in getting benefits of these welfare schemes. Under PMJVK, several development projects—Toilet facilities- 53, Solar Power Facilities in Schools- 16, Additional Class Rooms- 324, Health Centres- 223, Anganwadi Centres- 52, Residential Schools- 33, Degree Colleges-7, School Buldings-98, Hostel-98, ITI-4, Hunar Hubs-100, Medical College-1 and Polytechnics- 3 have been sanctioned/constructed in the first six months of the Modi Government-2.

The 'Aapla Fridge'(our fridge) initiative in Versova will feed the poor

Community fridge concept opened for poor in an initiative by a social organization  called the Ekta Manch 
Mumbai: Though Mumbai is known as the financial capital of India, it has a huge number of toiling masses who are unable to afford a square meal a day despite  working hard. To ensure that no one is  forced to sleep empty stomach just because they are poor, the Ekta Manch, a social group based in Versova has launched an 'Aapla Fridge' initiative. This will help feed those who are often forced to sleep empty stomach. The community fridge will be dedicated to the people in the premises of the Laxmikant Berde garden at Yari Road in Versova. 
While speaking about the initiative, Ajay Kaul, the president of Ekta Manch said, "Though Versova is known as an elite locality, it has a large number of poor citizens as well. We at the Ekta Manch have launched the 'Bhaji- Roti yojana' for the past two years wherein a large number of poor people are given packets of roti and bhaji everyday through dabbawalas. The next step in the scheme is the community fridge. Through this refrigerator we will provide fresh fruits, cooked vegetables, chapati and rice for the deprived." 
"Aapla Fridge has the highest storage capacity. We have appealed to the residents of Versova to make available nutritious, fresh food for the poor. We have received a huge response from the citizens around. The fridge will be under CCTV surveillance to prevent it from being misused or damaged," he explained. 
Kaul said responding to the appeal by the Ekta Manch, the Yari Galli Mitra Mandal has agreed to take over the responsibility of the security and daily management of Aapla Fridge. We will try to start five more community fridges at different locations in Mumbai in the next one year," said Ajay Kaul. 
"Though 'Aapla fridge' initiative has been launched, citizens and different organisations must pitch in to make it successful. The initiative by the Ekta Manch is to ensure that the poor do not go hungry, must be lauded," said Gajanan Kirtikar, Member of the  Parliament.
