eCraftIndia: the e-place for HandiCRAFTs in India

Although India is an ocean of talent when it comes to artistry, the exposure and access of these artisans and craftsmen to modern day marketplaces and marketing practices is scarce. In a quest to bring to the fore, these hidden jewels from rural villages and small towns across the country, Rahul Jain along with Ankit Agarwal and Pawan Goyal built an ecommerce platform www.eCraftIndia.com. From home decor to furnishings, furniture, paintings, kitchenware and gifts, the portal houses over nine thousand unique products. Started as a small online handicraft store in 2014, eCraftIndia.com is currently one of the largest handicraft e-store in India. Since inception, the company has tracked an average of more than 200 percent growth rate, year on year.
Rahul Jain is a software engineer by education. His place of birth, Jaipur offers some of the most unique and exquisite handicraft art in the country. “Growing up in the haven of art and handicraft, it has been intriguing to see how exorbitant costs are asserted by retailers across the nation selling Rajasthani handicraft. We wanted to hence, bridge the gap between art connoisseurs and artisans and organise the industry, thereby giving impetus to the growth of opportunities for trade with affordable artwork. Our burning desire is to create a Global reach for Indian art and handicrafts as we also contribute towards skill development and encourage these craftsmen”, he says.
They specialise in bringing art to the fore with designs that are ethnic yet contemporary. Products range from affordable to premium pricing and offer a huge platter. With standardised pricing as their strategy, they curate products by partnering with artisan communities and independent artists from across the country. With artworks of Rajasthani Karigar and artisans from Uttar Pradesh Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, eCraftIndia is a gateway to the constantly evolving and ever inspiring nature of Indian Artisan-ship. With products handmade mostly by women, eCraftIndia is creating a socio-sustainable business model, catering its primary activities around educating, employing and empowering women. Also, they have empanelled around 400 artisans from across the country.
Products from eCraftIndia are available across all major marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra along with the portal www.eCraftIndia.com and are shipped across the world. The brand envisages offering to the global audiences, a plethora of handpicked Indian artefacts, and hence encourage art and skill development in India. Also, it is the first brand to get launched as part of 'Home Decor Category Launch' at Myntra in December 2016 and Flipkart on July 2014
