Chef Vikas Khanna hosted world’s largest Eid feast in Mumbai


Touches 6 million meal distributions across 125+ cities in India 
India, May 2020: Amidst the COVID-19 crisis, Michelin Star Chef Vikas Khanna has been working tirelessly since April and has been able to  distribute 6 million dry ration meals to the needy across 125+ cities in India. Eid is around the corner, Chef Vikas Khanna in association with Maximus Collabs hosted world’s largest Eid feast on 22nd May, 2020 and distributed 100,000+ kgs of dry rations - Fresh fruits and vegetables, Spices, Sugar, Sevaiyan, Kitchen utensils, Oil, Tea, rice , daal ,Flour amongst others. People were served with dry ration and food in front of the Haji Ali restaurant and Mahim Dargah. The feast started with blessings by the sacred Haji Ali Dargah and was later distributed in Mumbai (Mohammad Ali Road, Dharavi and Mahim Dargah) while maintaining social distancing guidelines.
Chef Vikas Khanna has also partnered with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and converted 100 BPCL gas stations on the highways across UP, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh into food stations for the migrant workers heading home. With support from Paytm, India Gate, Vodafone Foundation, Granules and Beans, Pushp Masala, Mawana Sugar, Finolex Industries, Mukul Madhav Foundation, Bambino Sevaiyan & Pasta, Daawat Basmati Rice, Bergner India, Chef Khanna will continue to distribute dry rations in many cities around India. Distribution is mostly across Orphanages, OldAge Homes, Leprosy Centres in the cities.  More recently, Chef Vikas Khanna is also working towards distributing sanitary pads in collaboration with Niine sanitary napkins.
Chef Vikas Khanna, currently residing in New York City, started this initiative in April and has been immensely supported by the National Disaster Response Force, to create a supply chain to ensure dry ration is procured & distributed to orphanages, old age home, and leprosy centres amidst COVID-19 lockdown in India.
