COVID-19: Lalamove is standing side-by-side with the FMCG and F&B Sector to strengthen product supplies

India is trying hard in its battle with the Covid-19 and the impact it has dealt on our economy. Every sector is trying to come out with ways to ignite the operations so that business can be propelled towards normalcy.
The F&B Industry, especially the FMCG companies are facing severe challenges due to the lockdown. Due to the lockdown the traditional supply chains as distributors, wholesalers and direct sales staff are  disrupted and hamstrung by severe traffic curbs and shortage of staff and vehicles. Whereas the independent food-spots or chains are also facing difficulties in a bid to survive the plunge in walk-in sales as directed by the Government.
In order to curtail this tide of dropping business figures; the FMCG companies are forging new linkages with food aggregators. hyperlocal apps and courier firms. It has helped in reshaping the old model of dependence on solely wholesalers, distributors and retail stores to reach the end consumer. Following the same foot-steps the F&B businesses are also increasing their tie-ups with different logistics & food delivery platforms to boost their revenues.
However these associations have presented another challenge to these companies as they struggle to afford the steep commission fees charged by various delivery platforms and it is having serious effects on their balance sheet.
Stepping up to the occasion, Lalamove; an on-demand logistics company that connects customers and drivers through technology has come forward and is extending its services to the Food Industry as they are charging a minimal amount for their deliveries.
Speaking about the same, Mr. John HK Tang, Co-founder & Director of Lalamove stated that “Lalamove has never been a company that runs after commission, for us the customer engagement and requirements of the natives are the first priority. With this initiative we are trying to help the Indian Food & Beverage Industry that is already under a lot of thump due to COVID-19”
Lalamove is offering an uninterrupted service to the FMCG Companies where they are free to choose multiple locations and vendors at one go. They are also allowing merchants to opt for a multi-stop function that combines orders and delivery routes, in order to optimise the job of each driver and significantly lessen the burden on logistical costs. The merchant or user of the Lalamove platform  can add up to 20 drop-off points in a delivery order. The route would be optimised so that each subsequent drop-off point will cost only marginally. In India, there are thousands of drivers on the Lalamove platform that are undertaking deliveries on a daily basis.
Lalamove has tied up with huge FMCG brands like Marico Ltd, Amazon, Coca Cola, Tata Consumer Services,   Himalaya, Godrej Consumer Products, UdaanFreshUdaanMeat and Licious  for meeting their delivery requirements. They have also tied up Milk Basket in Hyderabad for meeting the milk requirements of the city. Their major operations are held in cities like Bangalore where they serve around 72 clients that operate in the Food and Beverage industry and deliver their goods to the native people. On a daily basis they deliver around 300 packages from these clients. The key brands which they are serving currently are CakeZone, Bajo foods, Licious, Cake Shop.
They have also collaborated with e-commerce startups like Big BasketNamdhariFarmizen, Fresh to Home, Amazon Pantry etc in order to help them out with the middle mile logistics solutions so that they can source products from the farmers and deliver it to their end consumer.

Lalamove is planning to continue their initiative and responsibility towards serving the Indian community in the future and are everyday to help out the Indian companies and people with the best of resources they have in display.
