With unprecedented views, audience appreciation, and critical acclaim for the inspiring posters, teaser, and trailer, 'The Married Woman' went on to break records resulting in becoming the 'Most anticipated new Indian movies and shows on IMDb’. The tremendous buzz around the show has resulted in increasing fandom amongst viewers, waiting to witness the journey of Astha and Peeplika in the show.

The wait is finally over as 11 episodes are now streaming on ALTBalaji and ZEE5 app. Based on celebrated author Manju Kapur's bestseller novel 'A Married Woman', the show dives deep into the characters of Astha and Peeplika. In the nineteen nineties, the story revolves around Astha, an ideal wife, daughter-in-law, and a perfect mother; who has everything a woman can hope from her marriage- a responsible husband, in-laws, and two children, yet she feels incomplete as an individual.

Breaking the normal society's norms, she sets out on a journey of self-discovery and finds her path. Thus ensues the story and the journey of a married woman. Peeplika, on the other hand, is a complete contrast, an artist who's never been interested in anything the least bit conventional who helps her explore her path on self-discovery.

The series, directed by Sahir Raza, features a talented pool of actors like Ridhi Dogra and Monica Dogra and Imaad Shah, Ayesha Raza, Rahul Vohra, Divya Seth Shah, Nadira Babbar, and Suhaas Ahuja, among others.

Speaking about the show, Ridhi Dogra, who plays Astha, said, "It's a story that needs to be told, and I am happy that I got the opportunity to be a part of the show and narrate the beautiful story of a woman and her journey through my character, Astha. I have not done a show like this before, and I'm grateful that I take back a lot. I am hoping the show does well."

Monica Dogra, who essays the role of Peeplika shared, "I'm very grateful to have come across such a meaningful project. I play such a dynamic and layered character of Peeplika, a pansexual artist-activist passionate about liberating herself and everyone around her from false societal pressures based on divisive religion or politics. It is overwhelming to see the kind of response the trailer has received. I hope you guys have as much fun as we had while shooting it."

'The Married Woman' is an urban relationship drama about women and their conditioning levied by society and her search to find herself.
