&TV actors' express gratitude towards their parents for being their source of inspiration on Parents Day

Parents are always the first individuals from whom we draw inspiration. Right from trying to ape their handwriting to dressing up like them, pretending to go to the office with a briefcase in hand; it is often our parents who become our role models for life. No matter how old we turn, our parents continue to inspire us in their majestic ways. While being our pillar of strength, there is something about them that keeps fuelling a fire within us to keep moving ahead. Recognising the selfless efforts of parents, &TV artists share how their parents are their source of inspiration.
Sneha Wagh, who essays Bal Hanuman's mother, Anjani Maa in &TV's Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram accredits her parents for what she has achieved today. Talking about the same, she expresses, "When it comes to my parents, I have been quite vocal and even today will proudly acknowledge that I owe my success to them. The skills I possess is because they let me be myself. Acting and dancing are artforms where one requires to express, to be let free. My parents have never held me back from expressing how I feel. Hence, I had no fear of being judged or misinterpreted by others. That, in my view, is vital when it comes to choosing a career path. Today, the person I am is with due credits to my parents. They inspire me every day to be to myself."
Sarika Bahroliya aka Gudiya from the show &TV'sGudiya Humari Sabhi Pe Bhari is very close to her parents and is missing their presence this Parents Day. Sharing her thoughts on it, she says, "My parents are my lifeline, and I would want them to be with me forever. They were quite strict when I was young. I was given very less pocket money and was told to spend them very cautiously, but now I realise that it was for my betterment. Today, whatever I am, it is because of them. I learnt to be calm and patient from my mother, while my father taught me everything about banking and finance. They introduced to me what sharing means and how to care for others. I am thankful to them for inculcating these values in me and making me a good human being. I miss having them around, especially in this critical situation. We connect on video calls, but I look forward to meeting them soon."
Dabanggdulhaniya Kamna Pathak aka Rajesh from &TV's Happu Ki Ultan Paltan shares, "My parents have been my constant support since the start of my career. Both of them have been strong followers of Art and Music. Following their footsteps, I dived into theatre at a very young age. They would always sit in the audience and cheer me during my performance while I was in college. The day I signed Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, I was extremely nervous and immediately called my mother to explain my anxiety of not knowing the Bundelkhandi language. She calmed me down and took the next flight to Mumbai and taught me the language. She taught me so well that my first-day dialogue delivery amazed the entire crew. While my mother helped me master the dialogues, my father helped me sing in Bundelkhandi. They have been my strongest pillars of strength ever since I've known the words 'Maa' and 'Papa'."
Tanvi Dogra, whoplays the ardent devotee of Santoshi Maa in &TV's Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein shares, "My parents are my biggest supporters and pillars of strength. Be it my career choice or any life decisions. When I signed my first show, I had to move to Mumbai from Pune. My parents were initially sceptical and were concerned about my well-being. After a week, mom shifted with me while brother and father continued to live in Pune. It's only then I realised parents could go to any length to protect and care for their child, even if it means staying away from each other for the sake of their child. We share a strong bond based on love, trust, and care for each other. It is only due to their constant support and belief in my abilities that instilled the confidence into me to become what I am today."
Ashish Kadian, who plays Indresh in &TV's Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein shares, "Since childhood, I was inclined towards extracurriculars as against academics. When I decided to pursue my career in acting, both my parents were extremely hesitant due to the fear of sustenance in the entertainment industry. Recognising my talent & hard work, they eventually encouraged me to follow my dream. My father provided for my Mumbai tickets and gave me some cash. I went for multiple auditions, did night-shifts at a call centre so that I could pay for my acting classes and house rent, and finally was able to bag my first ever role in a show. The first time they saw me on television, their happiness was beyond bounds. I am proud to share that the struggle and determination which got me my first job was only possible because of the trust my parents had in me. I have eventually realised the importance of the phrase my father often said, 'Hard work always bears fruits of success'."

This Guru Purnima, let us remember Krishna Keshav Ambedkar who gave Babasaheb’s his Ambedkar surname

‘Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara!’ Translating into, Guru is Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Organiser and Shiva the Destroyer. The shloka further emphasizes that ‘Guru is above all and I bow with the utmost respect to him.’ Guru Purnima, which falls on July 5th, is a traditional festival where disciples respect and worship their Gurus and express gratitude. To commemorate this day further, this ‘Guru Purnima’ let us remember the teacher, Krishna Keshav Ambedkar who not only guided the most exceptional leader of all times - Dr B. R. Ambedkar but also gave him his surname, ‘Ambedkar’.
It is often said that teachers are pioneers in shaping a student’s future. Very few teachers show genuine emotion, care, and concern when it comes to showing selfless love and encouragement towards children, one such motivating and determined teacher in Babasaheb’s life was his Guruji - Krishna Keshav Ambedkar. In the 1800s, India was adapting to new educational patterns, and during this time, Babasaheb faced an exceedingly challenging time in school and was treated differently by school authorities and teachers. Unable to ignore the differentiated treatment and help Babasaheb progress, his Guruji took a bold step and gave him his surname, ‘Ambedkar’ to get rid of the caste identity.
Babasaheb who was born as Bhimrao Ramji Sakpal was registered as Bhimrao Ambadawekar in school by his father Ramji because the surname came from his native village ‘Ambadawe’ in Ratnagiri district. However, because of his Guruji at school – Krishna Keshav Ambedkar, who bestowed his surname to Babasaheb which led to him being known as Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Talking about the outstanding contribution that Babasaheb’s teacher had in his life, Jagannath Nivangune who plays Ramji Sakpal in &TV’s Ek Mahanayak Dr B.R. Ambedkar shares, “A teacher, also known as Guru is the one who prepares you to face different chapters of life. Babasaheb was fortunate to have Krishna Keshav Ambedkar as his Guruji who noticed how bright Babasaheb was and guided him towards his career path. Babasaheb was ambitious and had the quest to learn more. Despite being treated differently by fellow students, Babasaheb studied with utmost sincerity and dedication. Growing fond of Babasaheb for his intellect and hunger for education, his teacher Krishna Keshav Ambedkar changed his surname to Ambedkar.”
&TV’s Ek Mahanayak Dr B. R Ambedkar is an inspirational story of Babasaheb and his journey from the tender age of five, to him becoming the prime architect of the Indian constitution.
Catch all the brand-new episodes of ‘Ek Mahanayak Dr B.R. Ambedkar’ at 8:30 pm starting July 13th, 2020 only on &TV!

This lockdown gave me time to introspect and discover a lot of things that I had been contemplating to do for quite some time. I am now eagerly looking forward to entertaining my viewers all over again. The Team has worked out a detailed sanitation plan to ensure we all are safe and adhere to the safety norms at all times during the shoot.”
Gracy Singh from &TV’s Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein shares, “It is indeed a tough time as we were fighting the common enemy with all our might. This lockdown time has given me time to introspect and pursue other activities such as dance, meditation and yoga. Shoots now are subjected to the revised guidelines, and I am looking forward to being back on the sets and start rolling. We all have been given a copy of revised guidelines, and we understand that following these are in everyone’s best interest. We all need to align ourselves to this new normal and come back with full enthusiasm and vigour.”
Sneha Wagh, Anjani of &TV’s Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram shares, “The lockdown period helped me focus on self-love and relaxation. I have spent a good amount of time doing Mandala art, and it has brought a lot of positivity in me.  All of my family members are working; this was a good time for us to reunite and spend quality time with each other. &TV actors share views on becoming environmentally responsible citizens

In merely three months of us going into lockdown, Mother Earth saw a tremendous amount of healing. It is enough proof for us to alter certain habits, imbibe a healthy lifestyle and make mindful decisions to keep our environment clean. Every human, young or old, must become advocates of climate change and look after all the elements that are part of mother nature. It has now become more imperative than before for each one of us to direct our efforts and consciously act upon environment protection. On World Environment Day, &TV actors share how even small efforts can bring about a positive change in the environment.
Hailing from the cleanest city of India, Indore, Kamna Pathak, the Dabang Rajesh of Happu Ki Ultan Paltan says, “Not a lot of actors can proudly say this – I belong to one of India’s cleanest city. Indore is the ‘Cleanest City’ four times in a row in Swachh Survekshan, an annual cleanliness survey! India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Indore’s cleanliness streak has set splendid examples for every city and every citizen to draw inspiration. When we can keep our homes clean, why can’t we keep our cities clean? Cleanliness is not just good practice but our responsibility as a human being towards our environment. If everyone starts thinking this way, it can make a significant difference.”
She further adds, “I pick up waste whenever I can and dispose it responsibly. Ever since I started doing this, I noticed a change in me. I started feeling good about myself. Keeping our environment clean also helps us keep our thoughts, our minds clean. A clean environment is everyone’s responsibility.”
Samta Sagar, Gudiya’s mother in &TV’s Gudiya HamariSabhi Pe Bhariis not only one of the most talented actors we have, but also an inherently environment-conscious person. This World Environment Day, Samta says, "Water is the essence of our being and is required in all daily activities. Many of us are unaware of how privileged we are to have a 24x7 water supply. In many parts of the world, there is a growing water shortage issue. Imagine standing in a long queue for hours only to fill up one bucket of water. Saving water is a pressing issue, especially in such a densely populated country like ours. Now that monsoon is also here let us not take it for granted. Save as much water as you can. Use less water, re-use water after washing vegetables to water your plants. There are many ways in which we can save water so that others can get their fair share.”
&TV’s Bali, Nirbhay Wadhwa seen in Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram has been passionate about wildlife protection. Putting his best foot forward, Nirbhay shares, “I am incredibly protective of animals, wild-animals especially. I, along with a few friends of mine, often rescue wild animals. We sometimes make arrangements to transport them safely back to their natural habitat. In today’s time, mostly due to our lifestyle choices like food, clothing, infrastructure etc. many animal species are in dire need of protection.
He further stresses upon wildlife protection saying, “Today, we have come to a juncture where we must choose to co-exist, or we will perish. Without wildlife and other animal species, we will not be able to survive. We all have studied the food chain and food web. This World Environment Day let us re-visit the chapters on the environment, re-learn and help create more awareness.” The actor has also walked the ramp for PETA in the past.
Ashish Kadian of Santoshi Maa – SunayeinVratKathayein has been very vocal about environmental issues and measures. This World Environment Day he says, “With lockdown 5.0 and people advised to stay indoors till June 30, we don’t know how far we are from complete decontamination. But we can give back to our environment even by staying home. All we need is to take small steps toward conservation. What families can do is be more mindful that staying home the entire day means more consumption of electricity. It is something each member should be cognizant. Blind consumption of electricity harms the environment in ways more than one! My mother and I ensure we use minimum power while in lockdown. Simple measures like unplugging devices when not in use, using natural light during daytime, using AC sensibly and smartly, could go a long way in conserving energy and an effective way in contributing our bit towards environment protection.”
