Aakash Educational Services Limited Forms New Subsidiary, Aakash Edutech Pvt. Ltd., to accelerate growth in its Digital Edtech Business

Mumbai, July 01, 2020: In order to combine its various digital offerings under one single entity, Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), the national leader in the test preparation sector, has set up a new subsidiary by the name of Aakash Edutech Pvt Ltd (AEPL) to help accelerate the growth of AESL’s digital edtech business. Aakash Edutech Pvt. Ltd. will be a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of AESL.

The new subsidiary will comprise Aakash Digital and Meritnation businesses. AEPL will provide a cutting-edge online platform for students to access high-quality live test preparation classes and live tuitions combined with self-study materials enabling better students’ outcomes.  While Aakash Digital was started 7 years ago, Meritnation, which started in 2009 was acquired by AESL in January 2020.

Commenting on the formation of Aakash Edutech Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Aakash Chaudhry, Director and CEO of Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), said, “The creation of Aakash Edutech Pvt. To spearhead AEPL’s digital portfolio, the company has also appointed industry veteran, Mr. Narasimha Jayakumar as its CEO. With a vast experience spanning more than 20+ years, Mr. Jayakumar was till recently CBO of Shubhloans.com. Prior to Shubhloans.com, Mr. Jayakumar was CEO of Nightingales, a leading home healthcare services company. He has also served as CBO of 99acres.com (India’s leading online real estate portal and part of publicly listed InfoEdge India Limited, BSE: Naukri) and COO, E-commerce at HomeShop18, apart from holding international roles at Google, Expedia and Galileo. He holds a B Tech (Computer Engineering) from NIT, Surathkal; PGDM from IIM-Bangalore and an MBA from the London School of Business.

Named, the ‘NEET Challenger App’, it enables candidates to strengthen their preparation for the upcoming NEET examination by making them thoroughly understand the insights of questions asked in the last 10 years.

Record 114 Students from Aakash Educational Services Limited qualify for the prestigious Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO)

·         Registers a 27% jump from 2018 when 90 students were selected.

·         Aakashian, Akash Sinha, becomes RMO’s All India Kendriya Vidyalaya topper.

·         The Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) is Stage 2 of the International Mathematical Olympiad.

NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 09, 2019: A record 114 students from Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), the national leader in test preparatory services, have qualified for the Regional Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India (RMO) 2019. Resulting in a rise of an impressive 27% from 2018 when 90 students were selected, registering one of the highest growths in the test preparation sector in the country for RMO.

As a matter of pride, the number of selections from Aakash Institute for RMO have been steadily rising for the past few years. 2018’s 90 selections were a whopping 278% rise from 2017 when 28 students had been selected for the Olympiad, a testimony of the innovative teaching methodology, curriculum and faculty at Aakash Institute. In fact, a student from Aakash Institute, Akash Sinha, has the distinction of being the All India Kendriya Vidyalaya Topper for RMO for 2019.

RMO is one of the major initiatives undertaken by the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM). Its main purpose is to spot mathematical talent among pre-university students in the country.

RMO is the second stage of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). The Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India is organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) on behalf of the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.

The RMO is a three-hour examination in which students solve six problems. Based on their performance in the RMO exam, students from Class 8^th-12^th will now compete in the next stage, which is the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO).
