India ITME Society – Acknowledging the hardworking Associations & Women Leadership

Celebrations on Milestones is the first thing an organization is seen to be doing. India ITME Society however differs to do something much more beyond than just the celebrations. To commemorate this occasion, the Society is launching a lot of new activities for the betterment of the entire textile society right from the institutes, associations to the industry.
One such activity of the society is an Award contest for the various Associations in the textile sector who are working for the betterment of their segment as well as for the hardworking women leaders of this sector. Society has decided to use this opportunity to recognize & give due credits to the honorable service that various Associations are providing to the textile industry.  
Working to make their venture successful, India ITME Society had called for open nominations from all the associations of the industry through mailers, website and social media campaigns. The award nominations for following categories were called for:
  • Category 1- Outstanding Association 
  • Category 2 -Digital Adoption
  • Category 3 - Emerging Association
  • Category 4 – Women Leadership
After running the campaign for more than 2 months and after collecting successful applications in this period on the 4th of November a panel of jury meet at Business Center, The Oberoi Mumbai’ Nariman Point for finalization of winners.
The panel of jury consisted of textile stalwarts of the Industry comprising of Mr. Suresh Kotak,  Mr. Gurudas Aras  & Mr. Suresh Vaidya along with Mr. S. Hari Shankar, Chairman, ITME Society Chairman, Mr. Ketan Sanghvi, Mr. Narendra L. Shah, Mr. G.T. Dembla, Mr. Sanjiv Lathia & Mr. R. S. Bachkaniwala

The Jury meeting took place from 11.30 am to 3.00 pm. on 4th Nov.2019. The jury discussed on the nomination received for various categories & after fine discussions & scrutinizing the fine-tuned applications, the jury individually ranked the shortlisted nominations.

Post lunch the compiled result of all the jury rankings were discussed and the final winner names where sealed & stamped by the Jury.

The announcement of the winner will be done on the “Global Networking Program for Associations “organized on 20th December 2019 at Taj Mahal Palace, Rendezvous, Gateway of India, Mumbai from 1.00 pm onwards.

India ITME society along with their knowledge partners Suvin Advisors prior to jury meeting had contacted the various associations & women leaders to submit their applications and later fine-tuned all the applications received and presented shortlisted nominations in front of the Jury to make the final decision. Few of the well-known associations who are part of India ITME Society, where not allowed to take part in this contest in order to maintain the unbiased nature while selection.

This award contest is just a beginning from the Society and it has plans to present such awards at their every exhibition including ITME 2020. They believe this initiative will help to recognize & bring forward the outstanding work done by certain unknown associations for years today. With these awards the society aims at further encouraging associations to work an extra mile & get inspiration from their fellow associations.

India ITME Society, the apex non-profit industry body from India established in 1980 organized “Press Conference” at Accra, Ghana to promote its International event ITME AFRICA 2020, scheduled from 14th – 16th February 2020 at Millennium Hall, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
India ITME Society strives to support and serve the Textile Engineering Industry through exhibitions, Events, Trade Promotion Services, Education Scholarships, Student Placements, and Consultancy etc.  The Society plays a pivotal role in strengthening the domestic as well as international Textile Industry by facilitating exchange of knowledge and technology transfer.

Hari Shankar, Chairman India ITME Society extended cordial welcome at the programme and the well attended & informative event was enriched by the presence of officials from Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Accra, Ghana, High Commission of India, Accra, Ghana, Textiles, Garments and Leather Industries of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Association of Ghana Apparel Manufacturers (AGAM), Ghana export Promotion Authority,  Winglow Fashion Academy.

This interaction between India and Ghana stirred to lay the foundation for a long-term relationship between the two countries and many joint activities benefitting students, Technical Institutions, Women entrepreneurs of Ghana to connect globally through  the business portal of the society www.india-itme.com.

Chief Guest H.E. The 11th edition India ITME series, which is the largest textile machinery & Technology event is to be held at IEML, Greater Noida from 10th – 15th December 2020. Mr. S. India ITME Society, the apex non-profit industry body from India organized “India Networking Programme” at Barcelona coinciding with ITMA-2019 on Saturday, 22nd June 2019.  This Networking programme was held with the purpose of highlighting the strengths and opportunities offered by India, home to 2nd largest textile market in the world.

The evening was graced by H.E. Mr. Sanjay Verma, Ambassador of India to Kingdom of Spain as the Chief Guest & Mr. Uday Gill, CEO Fibres, Indorama Ventures Ltd. & Mr. Govind Venuprasad, Co-ordinator, ITC as the Guests of Honour. Amongst the other dignitaries were H. E. Mr. Luis Valeriano González, Hon. Consul General of India to Spain along with 170 representatives from International Associations, Companies & Media Personnel from 24 Countries attended this business gathering.
On the occasion, Mr. S. Hari Shankar Chairman of India ITME Society announced 2 global events:

India ITME-2020 which is a flagship event is focused on customer outreach and customer connect in India and South East Asian regions.  “The importance of this event to the region is apparent from the fact that within 24 hours of opening the booking on 20th May 2019, over 15000 sq meters was booked & 100 Percent payments received from participants across the globe” said Mr. S. Hari Shankar.
