P.K Banerjee- Passed Away

Legendary footballer Shri Pradip Kumar Banerjee, aged 83 years, was admitted in Medica Superspecialty Hospital since 7th February 2020.

He was suffering from Sepsis and multi-organ failure due to pneumonia, with a background of Parkinson’s disease, dementia and Heart problems.

He was on ventilator support in the intensive care unit for more than two weeks. For last few days was in very critical condition.

Inspite of best of efforts and extensive clinical support  by the multidisciplinary team of consultants, he succumbed to his illness and breathed his last at 2.08pm this afternoon.

Medica extends their heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

Legendary footballer Shri Pradip Kumar Banerjee was admitted in Medica Superspecialty Hospital on 07.02.2020.

He is suffering from respiratory problem due to pneumonia and with underlying history of Parkinson’s disease and Dementia and heart problem.

He is on ventilatory support at intensive care and he was given temporary pacemaker support yesterday for low heart rate.

Multidisciplinary team of Consultants have reviewed his chest condition today and continued the ongoing treatment and extended one more day plan of mild sedation for providing adequate rest to the patient.

The team of consultants are reviewing  the progress day wise and shall take a call once his lung condition shows signs of improvement.

Family members were briefed this afternoon by clinicians about all developments and progress.
