Samsung Mobileis India’s Most Desired Brand in 2020; 4thtime in six editions: TRA Research


Tata leads with 30 brands featured; Godrej 11; Amul, Reliance, LG &have 9 each
Mumbai. 26th February, 2020. South Korean electronics giant Samsung wins the crown in TRA’s Most Desired Brands2020, making it a fourth time victory in six editions of the report. The brand also led the list in 2018, 2015 and 2013 reports as well. Technology giant Apple takes the 2nd place up one rank from last year, having climbed steadily over the years from rank 290 in 2015 to the exalted place this year. Samsung features again at 3rd rank in the Consumer Electronics Category. Sony TV, the GEC channel is a debut entry and rises by an impressive 594 ranks to occupy the 4th position this year followed by Maruti Suzuki at 5th. The Austin-based laptop maker Dell secures 6th rank; Samsung in Televisions at 7th, Amul Milk at 8th, Honda Activaat 9th and Hyundai at 10thfollow sequentially. The MDB 2020 list has 394 new brand entries which did not feature in the last edition.

Chandramouli, CEO, TRA Research, said at the launch of the report, “Desire is a longing for a brand irrespective of its need, and the success of a brand is highly dependent on the desire quotient it emanates. The brands which feature in this list have been able to exude a deep magnetic pull that impacts the consumer at a subliminal level. TRA’s syndicated research is based on our proprietary Brand Desire Matrix which measures consumers’ expressions of desire on 36 intangible attributes of a brand”.MDB 2020 lists 1000 brands across 326 Categories and 39 Super-Categories.
The F&B Category has 159 brands in the report and FMCG features 129, totalling 28.8% of the listing. Automobile features 75 brands, Consumer Electronics lists 59 and BFSI & Personal Accessories have 56 brands each. The Fashion-to-Financial Services conglomerate,Tata Group, leads with 29 brands featured, of which ten are Category leaders. Godrej Group has 11 brands listed with three Category leaders and Amulgets 9 brands included in the report of which eight top respective Categories.
Indian brands dominate the top 100 of India’s Most Desired list featuring 42 brands, followed by 15 American, 12 Japanese and 11 South Korean brands. 6 German brands also feature of which three luxury car brands dominate the list. 4 UK brands make it to top 100, and the three Chinese brands which are included in the list are from the Mobile Phone category.

Dell is India’s Most Trusted Brand, Jeep ranks 2nd in the list| TRA Research









Tata is represented by 23 brands among top 1000, Godrej has 15 and Samsung has 8 
Mumbai, Tuesday, 4th June 2019: Dell has been ranked as India’s Most Trusted Brands in TRA’s Brand Trust Report, 2019, the ninth edition in its series. It is followed in second position by Jeep, which also becomes the Most Trusted Automobile Brand of India this year. LIC and Amazon are ranked 3rd and 4th and Apple iPhone is India’s 5thMost Trusted Brand, rising 116 ranks from 2018 to also lead in Mobile Phone-Series.
The mobile phone brand of Samsung is at 6th spot and the leader among Mobile Phones. LG’s Televisions makes to 7th rank and is also the leader in the Consumer Electronics Super-Category. The 8th Most Trusted Brand rank is held by Aviva Life Insurance, Maruti Suzuki is at 9th position and is followed by State bank of India at 10th slot. The largest number of brands are from the Tata Group and it has 23 brands in among the Most Trusted list. Godrej has 15 brands, Amul has 11 and Samsung is represented in 8 Categories. LG, Honda, Cadbury’s, Nestle, Parle and Dabur are represented by 7 brands each. A significant achievement for Dabur is that its brands are leaders in each of the Categories represented.
TRA’s Brand Trust Report 2019 is the result of a comprehensive primary research conducted on the proprietary 61-Attribute Brand Trust Matrix of TRA. This year’s study involved 15,000 hours of fieldwork, covering 2,315 consumer-influencers across 16 cities in India, and generated 5 million datapoints and 9,000 unique brands, from which the top 1000 brands have been listed in this year’s report. Indian Statistical Institute is TRA’s statistical partner for the research methodology.
Among India’s 1000 Most Trusted brands in BTR 2019, there are total 39 Super-Categories and 289 Categories. The categories with the maximum brands are F&B and FMCG contributing to 26.8% of the total brands in the listings. Some of the Category leaders in Brand Trust Report 2019 are American Express (All India Rank 12) from Credit Cards, Otto (All India Rank 23) from Menswear, Muthoot Finance (All India Rank 24) from Financial Services, Tanishq (All India Rank 14) from Jewellery, Kangaroo Kids (All India Rank 15) from Pre-School, Mictrotek (All India Rank 417) from Inverters, Discovery (All India Rank 348) from Factual Entertainment, Astral (All India Rank 994) from Pipes, Amway (All India Rank 553) from Direct Selling, and Kent (All India Rank 476) from Water Purifiers.

Big B is India’s Most Trusted Personality: TRA Research








10 Actors, 11 Actresses from Bollywood, 3 each from Tollywood, Sports & Business make it to list
Mumbai, 23rd May 2019: Personalities demonstrate the quotient of trust and confidence of fans and followers. Keeping that in mind, TRA Research, India’s leading consumer-insights company launched TRA’s Most Trusted Personalities - 2019 report which includes 39 personalities from Cinema, Sports, Business, among others. The study was conducted through a primary research among 2315 consumers in 16 cities.
Hindi Cinema’s Shahenshah, Amitabh Bachchan who has recently celebrated his golden jubilee is leading the chart of India’s Most Trusted Personality and also leads the list of Actors. He is followed by Aamir Khan as the 2nd Most Trusted Male Actor and Salman ‘Chulbul’ Khan on 3rd rank. Akshay ‘interview’ Kumar 4th rank followed by the King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan at 5th. Among South Actors, Superstar Rajnikant tops the chart followed by Vijay at 2nd and Vikram at 3rdrank.
Bollywood’s Deepika Padukone is India’s Most Trusted Female Actor followed by Katrina Kaif and Madhuri Dixit Nene at 2nd and 3rd positions. The Caprese Girl, Alia Bhatt, one of the most versatile actresses’ secures 4th rank in India’s Most Trusted Personality 2019 – Female Actor. She is followed by Kajol at 5th rank.

Among Sports Personalities, with a power pack performance and brand endorsements, Virat Kohli is the Most Trusted Sports Personality chased by Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar at 2nd rank and Rohit Sharma at 3rd rank.
Among business personalities, former Chairman of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata is India’s Most Trust Business Personality followed by Reliance Chairperson Mukesh Ambani as the 2nd Most Trusted Business Personality of India.
Mother Teresa (Spiritual Personality), Sandeep Maheshwari (You Tuber), Sudha Murthy (Author) and Anna Hazare (Social Activist) make it among the Most Trusted list and are the only ones in their Category.
