Chef Vikas Khanna hosted “RANG”-a #FeedIndia initiative for Mother’s of Vrindavan, this International Widow’s Day

23rd June: Michelin Star Chef Vikas Khanna organised a food drive “RANG”, as a part of his #FeedIndia initiative in association with Global Funds for Widows in support of the Mother’s of Vrindavan, on International Widow’s Day. Hosted by Star Chef Vikas Khanna ,driven by the NDRF and supported by Maximus Collabs .Brands including Shunya Drinks, India Gate Food amongst others whole heartedly supported the food drive “RANG”.This drive benefits mothers from 7 ashrams across Vrindavan taken care by Sulabh International .
“RANG is and will always remain one of the closest food drive to my heart. Whenever I visited these Ashrams of Vrindavan & Varanasi they embraced me with open arms and hearts. Their stories become my poetry and their voices become my music. My book and my movie The Last color was inspired by these amazing women that got me to the Eligibility of Oscars 2020. I’m humbled to organise Rang a #FeedIndia initiative with Global Funds For Widows ”, shared Chef Vikas Khanna.
The Last Color is a film about the daily struggles for survival on the streets of the ancient city of Varanasi, India. The film stars Neena Gupta in the lead role. The film addresses the age-old taboo surrounding widows in Vrindavan and Varanasi in India.
“As  an organization we have been dedicated to empowering widows. The RANG project is cherished by us, as it our first collaboration with our Global Goodwill Ambassador for Widows, Chef Vikas Khanna.  We are honored to partner and serve our mothers in Vrindavan  in the #FeedIndia project .” shared Heather Ibrahim Leathers from Global Funds For Widows.

It all started with the #FeedIndia initiative started by Chef Vikas Khanna in the month of April. Since then, The Michelin star chef with support from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has distributed meals and food kits to more than 15 million people across 135 cities including Varanasi, Bengaluru, Mangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, amongst others. From organising a feast to celebrate Eid to Barkat, one of the largest food drives in the world, Chef Vikas Khanna is currently working on “Utsav” a food drive for Dabba Wallas and TV supporting staff & Kashi which includes 3 food drives to benefit Boatmen Families, craftsmen Families, & families of Ma Annapurna Temple In & around Varanasi.
