Maxxis India resumes Partial Production at Sanand Plant






  • The manufacturing unit will operate under the guidelines drawn by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Gujarat State Government.
  • The Sanand plant resumes partial operations after being shut down for 42-days.
Gujarat, 10 June 2020:  Maxxis India, announced partial resumption of its manufacturing operations at the Sanand, Gujarat plant with restricted manpower. The manufacturing unit will operate under COVID-19 safety guidelines, after the Ministry of Home Affairs and Gujarat State Government stated a few relaxations in the state. Maxxis India had shut the operations of its manufacturing facility on 23 rd March 2020 for a period of 42 days following Government order of a complete lockdown in the country.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Liu Chun Hsuan, Plant Head, Maxxis India, said, “We welcome the announcement of reopening manufacturing in Gujarat made by the central and state governments. Following the order, we have restarted partial production from 4 th May at our state-of-the-art facility in Sanand. All activities will be carried out in accordance with the government regulations and guidelines while also observing the company's highest standards of safety and hygiene for our employees.”
Maxxis India has laid down guidelines under which the manufacturing facility will operate in shifts with restricted manpower. All employees will be provided with masks to cover their nose and mouth during the entire duration of their presence at the unit. Employees will practice social distancing and maintain a minimum of 6 feet distance between each other. In addition, at the entrance and exit of the plant, all employees will pass through the disinfectant tunnel.

The sub-company of Maxxis Group, Maxxis India (Maxxis Rubber India Private Limited) started its own arm of business in India in 2015 and has built its first manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat. The facility is spread across a massive 106 acres and has a capacity to produce around 20,000 tyres and 40,000 tubes per day. Maxxis currently serves as an OEM tyre supplier to Honda (Two-wheelers), Hero Moto Corp, Suzuki, and Yamaha besides Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Tata and Jeep in India. Maxxis Rubber India has been selected as the original equipment tyre supplier to India’s number one selling model, Honda Activa, since 2015. Maxxis is fast expanding its partner network and have built over 2000 dealer network so far in India.
