YEF supports
the fight against COVID19
YEF is
providing necessary eatables to help those in need along with several NGOs
15th June, 2020, Mumbai:
Youth Empowerment Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works for education
of underprivileged students, launched a campaign ‘PROJECT MILAAP’ to help deprived
communities get through the tough lockdown period that India faces today due to
the Coronavirus pandemic by providing them with necessary eatables along with
the help of local volunteers and several NGOs. YEF is also raising funds
through which people can extend their hands to donate towards this noble cause.
Due to the complete lockdown across the country, there are
thousands of daily wage earners whose lives have been completely disrupted.
They include landless agricultural labourers, tailors, barbers, construction
workers, rickshaw/auto/bus/cab drivers and many others.Thousands of migrant
workers are left unemployed by the full economic and social shutdown in the country,
which has resulted in amass departure from major cities. They are facing a harsh
choice: either walk home or die hungry as they believe that “starvation will kill them before corona”.
People living in slums and villages face hunger arising from
loss of earnings and lack of resources to stock food supplies, so this
initiative by the Youth Empowerment Foundation is launched as an emergency
response to help and provide a safety net to these underprivileged communities.
The several initiatives taken by YEF to support the fight
against Coronavirus is as follows:
·
They are
helping blind families in Pune with the help of Snehsparsh Foundation.
·
They are
helping families residing in labourer camp, Gurgaon with the help of local
organization Bachchagiri Foundation.
·
They are
supporting families residing in GautemPuri Colony of Delhi with the help of
Chandrajeet, a UPSC aspirant to deliver groceries.
·
They handed over 500 dettol soaps to Delhi Bal Ayog for distribution to
500 children below 6 years through Anganwadi.

Hi,
I have been following your articles for
a while and loving it!
I wanted to reach out to you for a story
about our organisation YEF and thought it would be of interest to you.
With the entire country under a social and economic shutdown,
this could be a very difficult time for those who survive on daily wage.
Itincludes landless agricultural laborers, petty traders, tailors, barbers,
construction workers, rickshaw/auto/Ola/Uber drivers and many others. Migrant
workers face a grim choice: either walk home or die hungry. Millions of migrant
workers are left jobless and penniless by the full shutdown in the country that
has sparked an exodus from major cities.
We, at YEF support the fight against Corona virus
by taking
an initiative to help these underprivileged communities with the help of local
volunteers, and NGOs by providing them with the necessary eatables. We are also
collecting funds through our campaign named as “PROJECT MILAP” in which people
can extend their hands to donate towards this noble cause.
Recently, we donated 500 Dettol soaps to Delhi BalAyog for
distribution to 500 children below 6 years, through Anganwadi. We did food
distribution in various parts our country like Bangalore, Mumbai (dharavi),
Delhi and Pune.
I
would be very grateful if you could give your support to us by creating
awareness about our initiative. I appreciate your consideration and look
forward to hearing from you.
