Dale Carnegie and WalchandPeopleFirst undertake an ambitious all-India project; propose to reach 31 territories across states

National, 29th Nov 2022-

New York-headquartered Dale Carnegie, among the world’s leading L&D brands, is for the first time embarking on a major franchise expansion spree with its local India business partner, WalchandPeopleFirst, a company of the erstwhile Walchand Group. India’s fragmented training industry is estimated to be above Rs. 20,000 crores at a conservative level with a robust growth rate.

Commenting on the new development, Ms. Pallavi Jha, Managing Director said”.  This is a unique milestone for us; from being a metropolitan, urban-focused company looking at the corporate sector alone, we shall now penetrate smaller cities and towns, across the length and breadth of India, bringing international standards to soft skills training, the kind that India needs to be among the fastest growing economies of the world.”. Walchand PeopleFirst Ltd has become a Master Franchise of Dale Carnegie, and proposes to add 31 territories to its kitty, trying to reach every nook and corner of the nation.

Jha added: “While the brand will be expanding its outreach in a staggered fashion, it will include mega centers like Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Pune, and also emerging hotspots such Coimbatore, Chandigarh, Mangalore, Jamshedpur, Goa, etc. The North-East, hitherto underserviced, is a crucial part of our strategy too”.

While the Dale Carnegie-WalchandPeopleFirst alliance has created India’s first pan-India corporate brand in capacity-building, talent management, employee engagement, and strategic consulting, their vision is to also take learning solutions to the youth. The company has since the 2020 post-pandemic, also burnished its business model by creating a strong online learning platform to buttress its traditional face-to-face approach. As a pioneer in live online training Dale Carnegie has mastered the art of delivering its famously adapted in-person transformational learning experience to offer masterfully blended learning to its learners.

Said Jha; “Over the last 19 years in India, we have worked with large corporates, public sector, government bodies, NGOs, MSME, and education and delivered training to over 600000 individuals in India. And we do feel that there exists tremendous scope for working alongside organizations like the National Skill Development Corporation to take forward the skill development mission of the government. India’s joblessness cannot be addressed merely by technical skills; communication, team-building, leadership, and motivation, etc. are today considered power skills. That’s where we can complete the jigsaw puzzle”.

The company has a Who’s Who of clients in its list; some of them include KPMG, Citibank, Ericsson, Bajaj Finserv, Maruti, Biocon, Wipro, Tata Motors, Pepsico, Amazon, Bharat Petroleum, PwC, Vodafone, Axis Bank, Nestle, etc. The Dale Carnegie India operations rank among the top contributors in the global franchise network.

“We believe that for both Dale Carnegie and WalchandPeopleFirst, the Master Franchise network could be the beginning of a renewal of its principal goal to redefine the soft skills market and leverage India’s mammoth growth potential”, concludes Pallavi Jha.
