Bengaluru – December 7, 2022: The 46th K-1000 Rally, organised by the Karnataka Motor Sports Club, was held at BSR Infratech, Tumkur, Karnataka, about 150 kms from Bengaluru recently. The event doubles up as the third round of the FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship 2022. Samrat Yadav and Chandrashekar M of Yokohama Tyres secured 1st position in Gypsy Challenge category and 6th overall position against more powerful machines. The Gypsy was powered by Yokohama Advan A053 Tyres. The dynamic duo of Yadav and Chandrashekar have established themselves as Gypsy challenge kings after being crowned winners two consecutive times in this category.
Articulating a successful conclusion of the Gypsy Challenge, Mr. Harshwardhan Honmode, Director, Marketing at Yokohama India said, “As a company we are committed to creating high performance tyres and rallies are a perfect vehicle to showcase our prowess. We are extremely proud to get another Gypsy Challenge under our belt. Our Advan A053 tires are purpose-built for rallies and motor competitions on gravel. They surely proved that it takes a symphony of drivers, the team, and a long-grinding set of tyres to clinch the top of the leaderboard.”
The total distance of the 46th K-1000 Rally is about 224 kms which includes about 119.10 kms of competitive sections. Yokohama India Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japanese Tyre major Yokohama Rubber Company also supported Chetan Shivram, back to back double champion INRC 2019. Unfortunately, Shivram couldn’t finish the 46th K-1000 Rally due to mechanical issues.
