Norway MP Himanshu Gulati Reflects on Exclusive WION Interview and His Invitation to the Ram Mandir Ceremony

In an exclusive interview with WION's Principal Diplomatic Correspondent Sidhant Sibbal, Himanshu Gulati, a Member of Parliament in Norway, shared his excitement and deep honor upon receiving an invitation to the historic Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22.

Gulati, who represents not only the Norwegian parliament and its people but also the Hindu faith, expressed his admiration for the event, considering it a moment of unity for people worldwide. Reflecting on the peaceful resolution of the Ayodhya dispute, he underscored its significance as a global model for democratic conflict resolution.

Receiving the invitation through the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Gulati also revealed to www.wionews.com, one of the digital assets of IndiaDotcom Digital Private Limited,  his surprise and deep sense of honor. Currently preparing to depart from Oslo to Lucknow, he will join other international dignitaries before heading to Ayodhya for a two-night stay.

As the sole representative from Norway among approximately 50 foreign dignitaries, Gulati acknowledged the responsibility of representing not only his country but also the sentiments of thousands of people of Indian origin and Hindu faith across Europe.

In a unique gesture, Gulati disclosed that he would be bringing Norwegian-designed yoga mats and a small polar bear statue, symbolizing the northern part of the world, to bridge cultural connections with India.

While no formal meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi are scheduled due to the anticipated busy schedule, Gulati affirmed his commitment to conveying a message of peace and harmony from Norway, a country renowned for awarding the Nobel Peace Prize.

Proudly acknowledging the increasing recognition of Hindus in global leadership positions, he sees the Ram Mandir ceremony as a testament to the positive contributions of people of Hindu faith worldwide.
