EPIC CHANNEL SOON TURNS 5! JOIN IN THE CELEBRATIONS!

Mumbai, 18^th November 2019: EPIC Channel - India Ka Apna Infotainment is celebrating 5 years on television on November 19, 2019. Launched in 2014, EPIC has carved a special niche for itself while simultaneously it has raised the bar of expectations for quality Indian content. Reminiscing the 5-year journey of bringing to screen the stories of India, EPIC is celebrating its ‘5 Saal Yaadgaar’ by dedicating the day to its viewers by airing shows from its library selected by the viewers themselves. As part of the special line-up, EPIC will premiere a special 10-part short vignette series – Khatte Meethe Guppe! With Ranveer Brar and Manu Bhai – an extension of its much-loved series Raja Rasoi Aur Andaaz Anokha. Also premiering is an exclusive 30-minute episode of the making of Raja Rasoi Aur Andaaz Anokha, that takes viewers onto the sets of the show, and reveals all that goes into the making of one of the channels most popular shows.

Regiment Diaries from EPIC Channel now available on Netflix India

The show that chronicles the regiments of the Indian Army joins other popular EPIC shows on Netflix

Mumbai, 26^th August 2019: EPIC Channel, India’s leading infotainment channel announced an exclusive licensing of its marquee show Regiment Diaries to leading OTT platform, Netflix. The show takes viewers behind the heavily guarded gates of army regimental centers, to showcase the legacy, history, and traditions of the various regiments of the Indian Army and the rigorous training that transforms a civilian into a soldier. An EPIC Original, the show will continue to air on EPIC TV, is available on EPIC’s OTT platform EPIC On, and will simultaneously be available on Netflix, enabling it to reach a larger audience.

The show points the spotlight at the real stories of soldiers, both serving and retired, who share their anecdotes of army life and their experience as soldiers of India in times of peace and war. The show covers thirteen regiments of the Indian army including Madras Engineers Group, Rajputana Rifles, Sikh Regiment, Jat Regiment, Maratha Light Infantry amongst others.

From freedom fighters to free-thinking individuals; this year, India Ka Apna Infotainment, focusses its lens on the iconic men and women who embody the fierce independence, self-determination, and integrity that defines our nation.

Premiering on Independence Day, is a special feature, titled ‘Cyber Yoddha’ hosted by the versatile actor Ashutosh Rana, who introduces audiences to Trishneet Arora, a cyber-security expert who is at the front lines of global cyber defence.

EPIC On to release Anurag Basu’s ‘Stories By Rabindranath Tagore’ in Bengali;
EPIC Channel to air award winning documentary on the ‘Art of Shantiniketan’

India, 06 August, 2019: Seventy eight years ago, one of India’s favourite sons breathed his last. Rabindranath Tagore, a polymath of exceptional ability and deserved worldwide stature, is a celebrated writer, poet, philosopher and artist, who played a large part in reshaping Bengali literature, music, and art.

To commemorate his 78^th death anniversary, EPIC On, EPIC Channel’s OTT platform, will be releasing its critically acclaimed show, ‘Stories By Rabindranath Tagore’, in Bengali. Directed by Anurag Basu, and featuring Radhika Apte, Amrita Puri, and Sumeet Vyas, amongst others, the 26-part series is an anthology of the Nobel laureate’s stories, including some of the most popular ones like Chokher Bali, Athithi, Detective, and Kabuliwala.

Also premiering on EPIC On is ‘The Art of Shantiniketan – Masters in the footsteps of Tagore’, a documentary film created by Anita Gurnani and Selina Sen. Winner of multiple awards, this film is a tribute to the legend, tracing the Tagore family’s efforts in setting up Vishwa Bharti, for incorporating nationalist sentiments and to acquaint the Indian youth with their culture and heritage, during the time of colonial rule.

EPIC Channel Salutes The Indian Armed Forces This ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ With A Special Line-Up

The all-day programming celebrates the raw courage and determination of our country’s finest.

Mumbai 25th July 2019: Kargil Vijay Diwas remembers the sacrifices made by the Indian Armed Forces, in keeping the nation safe from infiltration by the Pakistani Army during the Kargil War of 1999 and commemorates the success of ‘Operation Vijay’, which was launched by the army to clear the Kargil sector after Pakistani troops occupied Indian posts in the region of Jammu and Kashmir.

2019 marks the 20th anniversary of the completion of ‘Operation Vijay’, and EPIC Channel — India Ka Apna Infotainment — remembers the determination and raw courage of our jawans, and pays them homage by celebrating Vijay Diwas all-day on the channel.

The special line-up includes World Television Premiere of 'Uri - The Forgotten Battle' –  produced by Major General GD Bakshi, who was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal for bravely commanding a battalion during the Kargil war. The film is an authoritative retelling of events that helped the Indian Army delay the Pakistani forces until they were destroyed. Other special features of the line-up include Turning point at Tololing, Killer Squadron, and 1965 Indo – Pakistan War- single episode stories that display the glory of the Indian Armed Forces.

Also part of the line-up are episodes from EPIC Channel’s hugely popular show – Regiment Diaries – that chronicles the history, achievements, and anecdotes of the regiments of the Indian Army. The show also brings alive tales of bravery from the borders and regiments, particularly those who fought in the Kargil war.

EPIC Channel signs Meiyang Chang to host it’s new quiz show format

The channel will soon be launching a quiz show titled ‘EPIC INDIA QUIZ CHALLENGE’ and has roped in the ever-affable Meiyang Chang, popular Bollywood singer and actor to host the show.

The ‘EPIC INDIA QUIZ CHALLENGE’ is an engaging show designed for intelligent young minds from Class 5th to 10th, from different schools across the country. The show is a quiz competition where teams from schools across India will fight for the crown of having the highest ‘IQ’ i.e. India Quotient. 

Meiyang Chang has enthralled audiences with his quick wit and charm on the big and small screen as a singer, actor and an anchor. The channel has roped in Chang owing to his uninhibited and likable persona which will be required to create a fun, easy going atmosphere for participant kids as they battle wits on the show.

EPIC Channel to air exclusive programming line-up for International Olympic Day

To celebrate International Olympic Day on June 23, EPIC will screen back-to-back episodes of one of its finest shows – ‘Umeed India’. The 14-part series is hosted by Virender Sehwag and chronicles the journey of some of India’s best athletes as they train with one aim in mind – to bring home the Gold at Tokyo 2020.
