Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) enhances trade between Mumbai and Taipei through freighter services

Mumbai, 16 November 2019 – GVK Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) managing the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) announces the launch of China Airlines Cargo freighter service from Mumbai Airport. The commencement of the airline’s first freighter service from Taipei to Mumbai to Amsterdam will expand CSMIA’s existing global cargo services. The addition of this service will boost business prospects and trade of importers and exporters from smaller cities with a wider global reach. Starting 16th November 2019, China Airlines Cargo will deploy the widebody Boeing 747 aircraft which will operate 04 flights per week, twice from Taipei to Mumbai to Amsterdam and twice vice versa.
A gateway to European cities, China Airlines will enable the movement of cargo via trucking services from Amsterdam to other cities like Paris, Frankfurt and Brussels amongst others. Additionally, operations to Taipei will also connect to other catchment areas such as USA, South East Asia, Japan, Korea, amongst others. At CSMIA, the combination of cargo aircraft and passenger flight capacity offers services to 160 destinations in 29 countries. The induction of China Airlines will further increase the overall cargo volumes at CSMIA and freighter frequency to global destinations.
