Ø Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai are the top 3 cities leading the demand for lawyers
India, December 19th, 2019: A study undertaken by Sulekha, India’s leading tech-AI platform for expert services has unveiled interesting insights about the demand for lawyers in Indian cities.
This study is based on visits and searches by nearly 1.2 lakh consumers across Indian cities that landed on Sulekha in the last one year.
Key findings of the study:
· In the last one year, most number of online searches have landed on Sulekha for Divorce & Family Lawyers (8,82,851), Civil Lawyers (1,44,875) followed by Corporate, Trade & Industrial Lawyers (1,05,320).
· In 2019, 882,851 online searches have landed on Sulekha for Divorce & family lawyers; an astounding increase by 97% in comparison to 2018. This indicates the current trends within family & married lives.
· Chennai (108,478), Mumbai (60629) and Bangalore (50508) are the top 3 Indian cities that are leading the online searches for divorce & family lawyers followed by Kolkata (42009), Hyderabad (38344) and Ahmedabad (29725).
· The online search for Criminal Lawyers have shown a 92% increase from last year, indicating the rise in the level of crimes during 2019 compared to 2018.
· Delhi (8906) is leading in the search for criminal lawyers and has shown an increase by 114% in comparison to last year; followed by Mumbai (7429) and Kolkata (6394).
· Online searches for Realty & Property dispute Lawyers increased in 2019 by 65%. Mumbai (11,117) is leading the demand followed by Bangalore (6,348) and Hyderabad (5,589).
· 105,320 online searches have landed on Sulekha for Corporate, trade & industrial dispute Lawyers; there has been a 46% increase in the searches when compared to 2018. Delhi (14,569) is leading the demand followed by Mumbai (11,368) and Bangalore (7564).
· Due to the rate at which cybercrimes is increasing, there is a reasonable increase in Cyber Lawyers searches by 23%.
· Categories such as Armed forces tribunal lawyers and Consumer protection & dispute lawyers are slowly gaining traction amongst the people, they have increased by 12% and 20% respectively.
· There is a drop in search trends for Civil Lawyers & Court marriage lawyers by -10% & -2% respectively.

This indicates that the consumers are moving from traditional to digital medium in their searches for lawyers.
