Helping in moving lives during lockdown: Lalamove


Today, when the entire country has stopped to curtail the effects of the deadly Coronavirus, some brave heroes are still performing their duties day-in and day-out so that we don’t have to face any difficulties while we are at our respective homes. Every sector & every individual is coming forward to help India & the Government fight the virus.
Joining the momentum; Lalamove an on-demand logistics company that connects customers and drivers through technology has also come forward and extended it’s services by offering mini trucks and bike deliveries for anyone’s moving essentials. They are helping to deliver food and groceries as well as medical supplies and other essentials as approved by the government whether it’s Business to Business (B2B), Business to Customer (B2C) or a Personal Delivery. Their services are currently available in cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi NCR, Pune, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
Lalamove made a significant contribution by arranging the vehicle from Bangalore to Mangalore for dispatching the raw material for making Masks. They are receiving thousands of delivery orders on a daily basis from cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi NCR, Pune, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The deliveries are conducted on Lalamove’s  2-wheeler and 4-wheeler vehicles.
Speaking on the activities, Mr. Vaibhav Gupta, City Manager, Bangalore & Chennai, Lalamove stated that “Lalamove is dedicated in helping out the community especially in these tough times. We are trying to help every part of the community be it farmers, locals or businesses with their needs for essential items, logistics solutions, personal delivers etc to the best of our capabilities. Our drivers and staffs are working extra hours to meet the needs of the public. We hope that things will be better soon”
In Bangalore itself, they serve around 72 clients that operate in the Food and Beverage industry and deliver their goods to the native people. On a daily basis they deliver around 300 packages from these clients. The key brands which they are serving currently are CakeZone, Bajo foods, Licious, Cake Shop.
Lalamove is also actively working with Milkbasket to meet the requirements of milk supplies within the cities that they are present and have received movement passes from the Government for the fulfilment of essentials within the cities.
They are also taking active measures to help the section of the community that is responsible for meeting the food requirements of the entire nation.  In Bangalore and Chennai they have tied up with Farmers in Mandi to transfer their goods from different parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to ChennaiBangalore, Mysore and Coimbatore. They have also collaborated with established startups in this domain like Big BasketNamdhariFarmizen etc in order to help them out with the middle mile logistics solutions so that they can source products from the farmers.

In these tough times, apart from their app and web portals, Lalamove is also using WhatsApp as an effective tool to manage resources, staff activities & payments, for conducting CSR & Business related activities or for doing customer support or taking orders. They have a Whatsapp group very extensively dedicated for the functioning of their Outstation Vertical and the requirements are met from their Bangalore and Chennai centers. For Bangalore, they have around 8 clusters WhatsApp groups which comprises of both demand and the supply team.
