Mumbai 17th April, 2020: The Shree Sankalp Pratishthan charitable trust, founded and led by leading Mumbai philanthropic couple Shri Sachin and Smt. Sangeeta Ahir, has continued to head Mumbai’s fight against the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Recognising the vital role played by public servants in containing the pandemic, the charitable organisation oversaw the distribution of vital medical supplies – including face shield masks and other protective gear – to the serving men and women of the Worli police department. Through this act they have ensured the continued health and safety of these officers, and showcased the city’s gratitude for their service in this hour of need. The generous couple were at the forefront of the activity, and were seen personally distributing these supplies to the station’s occupants.
Commenting on the initiative, Smt Sangeeta Ahir said, “While the rest of the city practices social distancing and self-isolation to protect themselves and others, the brave individuals of our city’s public services are out on the streets. Through their selfless efforts they keep us safe and preserve countless lives. We honour them for their sacrifice, and make this donation on behalf of a grateful city and nation.”
Since its inception, the Shree Sankalp Pratishthan trust has become widely renowned for its charitable and philanthropic activities in and around Worli. With the mission of impacting the lives of people across communities, it has worked in the areas of socio-economic welfare, humanitarian aid, children’s education, women’s empowerment, and cultural enrichment. The trust has also been at the forefront of the city’s response to this pandemic, donating equipment and supplies to both vulnerable segments of society and public bodies, and collaborating closely with the government to contain the coronavirus.
