Company Profile: Lawpreneurz
Founded in 2017 and launched in 2018 under the guidance of Mr. Anand Desai, Managing Partner at DSK Legal, Lawpreneurz is India’s first one of its kind digital law learning platform. Designed with the intent of helping legal students better understand their subjects, Lawpreneurz offers a vast selection of video lectures, notes, and frequently asked questions, all curated by working professionals in the field. Lawpreneurz also offers students the opportunity to directly interface with their team via Skype to have their queries resolved.
A structured platform like Lawpreneurz is the need of the hour as a country like India, with over 1300 law schools and a lack of quality education and infrastructure, makes it difficult for students to fully absorb the subjects being taught. This knowledge gap results in a generation of lawyers who lack the skills and information necessary to excel in their chosen profession. With Lawpreneurz, which can be accessed through any smart device, the issue of quality and convenience are both taken care of. The result is the ability to learn law on the go – a massive disruption in the field of legal education.
With
1000 members joining the initiative over the last seven months, Lawpreneurz has
been validated by the legal fraternity and is on the right track for success.
This knowledge motivates the team to work harder than ever in their effort to
make Lawpreneurz the best law learning platform in the world. With first-of-its
kind features planned for the field of Judiciary – a key exam for the majority
of law students – Lawpreneurz will soon help every student go digital with
their subjects. By helping them learn at their own time and pace, and with a
personalised learning outcome for each student, Lawpreneurz is set to reshape
the face of India’s legal education system.
Raunaq Kakkar
As a law graduate from the OP Jindal Global University, Raunaq Kakkar
had always been passionate about working as a criminal lawyer. However, destiny
had other plans for him when he failed his law school exams, with over 25
papers to appear for the day his batch graduated. Over the course of the next
year and a half, Raunaq took every avenue available in order to clear these
tests – from reference books to notes, and even various channels on YouTube –
but the absence of awareness on the subject and lack of a structured study
pattern resulted in him failing to clear his exams once more.
It was during this time that the idea of creating a platform like
Lawpreneurz was born. Despite having attended a highly reputed law school,
clearing his exams became an immense task due to the unavailability of proper guidance
and professors who could clearly explain complex topics. When considering the
plight of other students who didn’t have the opportunity to go to a premium law
school and faced similar struggles, Raunaq was inspired to create a unique
solution to help his fellow students at large – all at the click of button.
Aside from dedicating his heart and soul to Lawpreneurz, Raunaq Kakkar is an avid TEDx speaker, and has received accolades for his talk ‘Shifting Gears when Lord Murphy Strikes’. This philosophy has played a pivotal role in his life, and given him a unique perspective on the ups and downs of his journey.
