Women’s day should be celebrated every day for their contribution to the society. The theme of International Women’s Day 2021 is “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.” This celebrates the tremendous efforts by women around the world in shaping a more equal future.
Women are also at the forefront of the battle against COVID-19, as front-line and health sector workers, as scientists, doctors and caregivers. They rose to the occasion above all obstacles and led the fight for months together.
Gender equality is the way forward, more so in the new normal. We have seen how female heads of state have had formidable successes in containing the deadly pandemic.
Its time to push women leadership to have a more equal, more inclusive and better future.
