SOCIAL hosts ‘Satrangi Mela’ a one of its kind Queer Culture Festival in collaboration with India’s LGBTQIA+ communities

~Witness pop-ups, performances, workshops along with a Drag King show which will be the highlight of the event~

Mumbai, 8^th May 2022: This weekend, make no other plans as SOCIAL has curated ‘Satrangi Mela’ a unique pop culture fest for and by the LGBTQIA+ community! Experience an all-day queer extravaganza showcasing art, live music, drag shows food and drinks along with a flea market experience from the community that will be a safe space to just be you!

Hit the Flea Market from 2 pm to 8 pm that will offer a mix of Totebags, Notebooks, Clay Jewllery & Paintings, Handmade Soaps, Jewellery, Resin Art, Book Club, Hand & Poke Tattoo and more by brands like One Future Collective, Transumations Soap Studio, With Love, Precisely Picturesque, Art Asylum, Art & Sentiments, etc.

Attend the Fat liberation & Queer Bodies masterclass by Kuhoo Tiwari, 4 pm onwards post which Richa Vashistha, Chief Mental Health Expert with AtEase will take a master class on Aaina, a self-reflective workshop.

That’s not all! The Mela will bring in exhilarating performances by the best of the talents too! Tanya (singer, songwriter) and Varisha (guitarist) will sing and perform to their own melodious songs and tunes. Don’t miss the highlight of the event, the Drag King Show which will be performed by Naaz B and Siaan! End the evening by partying to the groovy music played by DJ Lydia 10 pm onwards.

With an aim to support the LGBTQIA+ community and make them a part of the #AllInclusivity flagship project, SOCIAL has initiated Satrangi Mela, which will be replicated and hosted on a regular basis in Mumbai along with Pune and Bangalore.
