The cultural sway and influence of Korean Culture has brought in a flurry of excitement in India introducing them to the Hallyu wave from the far east. The love for Korean is a 360-degree affair now and is no longer confined to just entertainment. From skin care to food, the influence of Korean can be seen everywhere and therefore, to introduce the techniques of Korean food, Zee Café’s Chef Vs Fridge Season 2 bring a Korean special episode for the audiences.
This episode will see the judges chef Ajay Chopra and Chef Shipra Khanna starting with explaining the nuances of Korean food and its similarity with the Indian cuisine. The two also expressed their love for the cuisine. Speaking about her love for Korean food, Chef Shipra said, “I love Korean cuisine and their flavours.” Chef Ajay explained upon the similarities of Korean and Indian cuisines. “The tradition of their flavours and techniques is very similar to Indian cuisine. Fermentation like us is used by them, we use tandoor and they use barbeque, use of chillies and spices also can be seen.” In the episode, the contestants will also be seen presenting their innovative thinking while preparing their final dish in the Korean style while facing the challenges thrown to them. While the key ingredient given to them for the dish is Gochujang (fermented chilli paste), Chef Shipra gives them the YOTD which is a Paniaram. Later, Boss Chiller also gives them ‘Dried Bombay Duck’ to be included in their dishes.
