The company has invested heavily in building a robust public charging infrastructure in the city. Ather has strategically installed 30+ fast-charging grids across Mumbai and will be adding a total of 80+ fast-charging grids by the end of the current fiscal year to support the growth in demand and alleviate range and charging anxiety. The company currently has 90+ Ather Grid points across Maharashtra and plans to add 90 more by March 2023.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, said, "In terms of consumer demand, Maharashtra is one of the top three states for Ather Energy. The state government's EV policy provided an initial impetus, which led to the growth of the Ather community in the city and increased consumer awareness with more vehicles on road. We have received a phenomenal response to the new Gen 3 of our flagship scooters, and the launch of the new experience centres will allow us to meet this increased demand. In Maharashtra, the waiting period is now around 15 to 30 days, depending on the location. As we increase our production capacity in the coming months, we are confident of catering to the rising demand and capturing a larger market share in the state."
Ather had a great start to this festive season and has been experiencing strong momentum since the past couple of months. As a result of an improved supply chain, the company recorded the best monthly sales in October, delivering 8213 units. The company has grown its retail network throughout important cities in India, and it now has 61 retail outlets in 50 cities. The company intends to expand to 100 cities with 150 Experience Centres by March 2023.
With a larger battery pack of 3.7 kWh, broader rear-view mirrors, and wider tires, the new Ather Gen 3 electric scooters provide improved performance. Based on customer data, the upgrades were made to give the optimum experience for purchasers. The enhanced TrueRangeTM of the new Ather 450X Gen 3 and 450Plus Gen 3 is 105 km and 85 km, respectively.
