Coimbatore, December 19, 2022: Audiences witnessed a spectacular season closure of the JK Tyre presents Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup 2022 Championship, after a knee-scraping action-packed race weekend at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore from December 16-18 2022. After a resounding success of the debut season last year, season 2 of this one of its kind unique racing championship witnessed phenomenal response from the racing community with nearly 500 entries from which the top 25 selected racers from different parts of India, showcased their grit and racing skills on the circuit.
In line with its ‘Pure Sport’ philosophy, the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup is a unique racing format in India aimed at building accessible entry into track-racing for new entrants as well as experienced racers. Taking the intensity on the race track a notch higher, season 2 of the JK Tyre presents Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup introduced the exciting ‘Pro-Am’ format this year, where 10 professional and 15 amateur racers competed over three challenging rounds (8 races) as part of the JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship (JK-NRC) and put to test their exceptional racing skills on the Royal Enfield Continental GT-R650.

Season finale of the JK Tyre presents Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup 2022 witnessed an extremely close battle amongst the top 25 riders fighting for the championship title. At the end of the season, the podium lineup looked vastly diverse with racers from different parts of the country lifting their trophies in their respective categories. The addition of the media race was another highlight of the 2022 edition of this unique racing championship. All eight races this season witnessed spectacular racing action and fierce rivalries on track between the championship contenders. After a nail-biting final round this weekend, Allwin Xavier and Soorya PM dominated the race track and emerged as champions in the Professional and Amateur categories with 49 and 85 points accumulated over three rounds and eight races, respectively. While the professional category saw a close battle between Allwin and Anish till the last race, in the Amateur category, Soorya PM continued his dominance throughout the season, giving the pros a run for their money, and emerged as the champion with a comfortable lead of 35 points.
